I Try Dozens of Snacks a Month, but These Are the 8 I Can't Stop Eating (2024)

I’ve always had a love for snacking. I have a major sweet tooth and love all things salty and crunchy, plus I don’t discriminate between convenient store classics and the fancy snacks at my favorite shoppy shops. As a food writer, one of the best perks of my job is that I constantly have the opportunity to taste all of the latest launches— right now, my pantry is overflowing with sweet and salty treats.

I snacked my way through February and came away with eight favorites, including trendy potato chips made with Graza olive oil, pickles designed for snacking, and more delicacies I haven’t wanted to put down. Read on to shop my favorites, starting at just $5.

Better Sour Gummies, 10 Pack

I love anything sweet and sour, so I’m always on the lookout for new additions to the candy aisle. Better Sour gummies stand out from the pack, thanks to the assortment of flavors that veer from the classic ones we tend to expect in gummy candy. Coming in tart and tangy flavors like guava, calamansi, and ume, the candies are inspired by produce local to the Middle East and Asia Pacific. The mouth-puckeringly tart gummies only contain 3 grams of sugar per bag, which is great news since I always end up eating them all in one sitting.

Graza Extra Virgin Olive Oil Potato Chips

Fancy chips fried in fancy olive oil? Count me in. These all-new potato chips from Graza is mouthwateringly delicious and has the visual appeal to match. They’re made from thinly-sliced galician potatoes slow-fried in Graza’s extra virgin olive oil and finished with Añana sea salt. The olive oil infuses a vibrant flavor into each crispy, salty bite, which makes it impossible to eat just one.

Tate’s Bake Shop Cookie Bark

The crispy cookie brand Tate’s recently launched cookie bark, and it’s so simple yet truly genius. The cookie bark is made with cookie pieces topped with dark chocolate and flaky sea salt, making for a deliciously rich dessert or midday pick-me-up. I opened my bag to taste a single piece and ended up inhaling the entire thing within an hour, thanks to the bark’s perfect sweet-salty balance. Luckily, each 5-ounce bag is only $6 at Amazon, so I can easily restock.

The Only Bean Roasted Wasabi Soy Sauce Edamame Beans, 3 Pack

I love when I find snacks that are both nutritious and delicious, which is why these roasted edamame beans have been in my constant rotation recently. The Only Bean recently launched a brand new flavor that’s like a sushi bar in a bag. It’s seasoned with wasabi and soy sauce, resulting in a spicy, earthy, salty snack that I never want to put down. They have the same addictive crunch I love in chips or popcorn— but each serving is packed with a whopping 13 grams of protein.

Flamin’ Hot Ruffles

Cheetos aren’t the only snack that’s Flamin’ Hot these days, and as a snack aficionado, I’ve made a concerted effort to try all the new spicy launches. While they’re all delicious, these Ruffles are by far my favorite flamin’ find, thanks to their famous ridges that trap in flavor. I love how the simple flavor of Ruffles provides a blank canvas that allows the Flamin’ Hot flavor to shine.

Ruby x BjornQorn Hibiscus Popcorn, 6 Pack

I always get excited when two of my favorite food brands launch a collab, so when BjornQorn popcorn released a hibiscus flavor in partnership with Ruby hibiscus water, I was immediately intrigued. And once I got my hands on a bag, it didn’t disappoint. The tart flavor of hibiscus powder combines surprisingly well with the nutty, cheesy tones of nutritional yeast, making for a uniquely tangy snack to munch on throughout the day.

Tony's Chocolonely 42% Dark Milk Chocolate Bar with Pretzel & Toffee, 4 Pack

Tony’s Chocolonely is a mission-driven company with delicious chocolates to back it up. I love all of the brand’s flavors, but my absolute favorite is the 42% dark milk chocolate bar with pretzel and toffee. Unlike typical chocolate bars, Tony’s bars aren’t divided into uniform squares, so I can always break off as much or as little as I like. Pretzel and toffee pieces add a delicious texture and salty balance to each bite.

Grillo’s Pickles Dill Thickles

I’m in a love affair with dill pickles. Their salty yet refreshing flavor makes them a perfect afternoon or midnight snack, but eating whole pickles or pickle spears can be a messy task. Now, Grillo’s launched a variety shaped perfectly for eating on their own. “Thickles” are three times wider than Grillo’s classic pickle chips, but with the same crisp, crunchy appeal that keeps me coming back for the next forkful.
