In years past, it was just the CS regional. Insignificant matter, just curious.

Bryan and College Station are really one metro area. Years ago, citizens of Bryan (the country seat of Brazos County) donated land for the purpose of starting an ag college, but the land was several miles outside of town. The area that grew up around A&M incorporated, and the two small towns grew into an area that feel like one large town, but is actually two mid sized towns.
As A&M grew, some of its main campus came to be in Bryan, not College Station. Also, the area itself has been regularly called Bryan-College Station (or B/CS) for at least 60 years by locals.
I actually grew up in the area, and get a kick out of A&M students from other places getting all bent out of shape at the move to calling the home of A&M not just College Station, but Bryan/College Station.

It’s like a small scale version of DFW. There’s really no distinction between where one ends and the other begins.
A&M was founded on land outside of bryan. The rail road had a station in bryan and one at the college, hence the name, College Station.
It’s been called the B/CS area for as long as I can remember.

I have a sister that lives in Bryan, so I know the layout. In the past, wasn’t it just the CS Regional?

Sounds like they just decided on a name change to make the City of Bryan feel better.
Not a controversial decision.

A very perfunctory internet search reveals you are indeed correct.
In 2022 (the last time we hosted) the site was listed as the College Station Regional. Honestly, I hadn’t noticed it until you pointed it out—nor do I know why it’s different this year.
The two names (B/CS and College Station) are often used synonymously, with B/CS typically used for community-based events (e.g., festivals, lodging, entertainment). College Station is usually the location site for university-related events.

There was some sort of marketing agreement between Bryan, College Station and A&M to market the area.

Just threw a bone to Bryan so they could be included.
