Newgale Sands is a stunning, dog-friendly beach with Blue Flag status. It's long and sandy, and perfect for a day out. There are toilets and a beach cafe on site, so you can relax after a day of exploring the area.

Fantastic beach, went in the high of summer and there was plenty of space. Tide was high at about 2.30 but went out to reveal lots of sand for the kids to play on.Car park with plenty of spaces, fairly near the beach + public loos that were fairly clean.Coffee shop and pub nearby.

York Wood-Personal — Google review

Lovely sandy beach, cool caves and rocks to explore and climb.Little surf shop, cafe & pub close by with parking.Only downside is the pebbles you have to cross to get on and off the beach

Rachel Norris — Google review

massive, long beach with some interesting marine life around. haven't seen the crabs, but fish right on the coast, jellies (or something similar) and some nice shells to pick up. very windy but view is great.

Kat Moskal — Google review

Visited in early November, and was happy to find that the car parking is free. If you have mobility issues, you might find the pebble bank is quite difficult to walk on, as even our dog was finding it a bit tricky in places. The sea was 'in' so no chance on walking along the beach. We walked down to Pebbles Café (which was closed) , and it is worth noting that the car park there was still chargeable, so worth bearing that in mind. It's lovely to get some bracing air though, and tasting the sea salt on your lips. 💋😁

Lovely beach and closest one to were we were staying at Newgale lodge...only thing was to get to the beach there was a pebble beach defence which was ridiculously hard to overcome...I had a 6 month old in a baby carrier & a two year old & because the pebbles kept slipping as I moved I ended sitting on my bum & shuffling down!!!! How crazy is that!!!! Fyi stunning views at Sunset from a safe distance (no need to take on wall:)) & breathtaking star gazing at night (would've been more peaceful if the campers next door were quieter)..Also a cave at the end of the beach is worth checking out...

Aisha Ahmedabadi — Google review

Newgale is fantastic. Brilliant for surfing and the beach is lovely and big when the tide is out, all but disappears when the tide is in. Great if u have dogs too as they are allowed at the top end of the beach in summer season.

Jody Bate — Google review

What a find! Another beautiful Welsh beach, this one in Pembrokeshirein, south west Wales. Complete with golden sand, a dazzling array of shells and a huge variety of pebbles. Love it

Karen Smith-Davies — Google review

Amazing beach, long stretch of sand during low tide is ideal for walking. Easy to park, there is a pub opposite and plenty of space on the beach itself for sitting down or having a picnic.Unfortunately, it’s not suitable for physically disabled people or very elderly because there is a high wall of rocks and pebbles to get to the beach.

Zhuldyz Nurkhaidar — Google review

Love this beach! It is vast with lots of open space and a very long beach to walk along. It is dog friendly all year round and the water is some of the cleanest I have seen in all of the UK. It is stone and shingle as you enter the beach and sandy near the water. Be wary the shingles can be slippery so bring comfortable and safe footwear. Also not much shady spots so bring your own umbrella for cover from the sun on hot days especially if you bring your pups.

Actual Jackson — Google review

Enormous! is the only way to describe this beach; it’s almost 2 miles of sand backed by a huge pebble bank formed after a BIG storm in 1859.Kitesurfing and surfing are popular on this beach and tuition is available.Walk right down to the southern end to find a walk-through cave and numerous sheltered bays.Cross the river, at the back of the pebble bank opposite the cafe at the north end to gain access to several low tide bays.At very low tide it’s possible to walk round to Cwm Mawr beach but keep an eye on the tide times as you don’t want to get cut off.Dog restrictions apply to the middle third of the beach between the 1st May and 30th September. Check out a map of the beach to help with which section of the beach it applies to.Newgale Campsite was established in 1935 and since then has been welcoming generations of guests to this picturesque spot. In 2018 Mike & Clare Harris became proud owners. Clare and Mike have focused on investing in facilities to add comfort to the guest experience whilst retaining the charm of a coastal campsite.

Boris Cornforth — Google review

Fun, lovely spot to visit. Lots of waves and beautiful views of the beach while driving down to it. Fairly busy due to holiday season, but beautiful regardless. Spectacular sunset.

Victoria T — Google review

Absolutely adore this place. Still slightly wild and windswept. Not as commercialised as other beaches. Ample toilets at either end of the beach. A reasonably priced cafe at 1 end. And a surf shop with camping supplies next to the campsite. During busy periods, there is usually a wood fired pizza stall. Usually very busy at either end, where the facilities are located. I tend to go for the middle, where it is quieter. Beautiful sunsets.

Misslegsakimbo — Google review

Beautiful big beach. There were lifeguards on duty. There were signs to say no dogs but there were more than twenty seen.Lots of different coloured pebbles before the beach.

James Vardy — Google review

Absolutely stunning beach, seems to endlessly stretch for miles. It's gorgeous to walk along, would probably be fairly busy at peak times but is definitely worth a visit. Also a lot of jellyfish and other sea life and some gorgeous shells. Only downside is there's a big pebble slope you have to cross to get to and from the beach and it's far from fun trying to walk on it

The beautiful, rustic beach at Freshwater West is perfect for a relaxing day out with friends or family. With crystal-clear waters and soft golden sand, it's easy to spend hours basking in the sun. The wide stretch of sand is great for swimming and there are also plenty of dunes to run around if you want to get active. In the summer months, visitors can enjoy a picnic here while in the winter it makes an ideal spot for sledging and ice skating.

Absolutely stunning beach and dunes. Filming location for Dobbys death in Harry Potter.

Conrad Mark Westwood — Google review

A free elf resides here and what a beautiful place to visit once again. A little blustery this day but still worth going whatever the weather. There is plenty of parking and a toilet block, which is just like Dobby, free. I recommend parking in the toilet block car park as it is closest to Dobbys mound, for those who are less mobile. The mound is forever changing and contributions are made daily, so you will always see something new every time you visit. The beach is just so quiet and peaceful with the sand dunes and the rocks. Just a very reflective place for anyone to visit and escape the madness for an hour or Three.

Mark Matthews — Google review

These are the most beautiful sands I have experienced so far in Pembrokeshire. The drive there is okay and very easy to find and lots of signposts. Narrow roads for a short while. We parked on the top carpark and was lucky to get the spot we did. Very highly recommended!

Victoria T — Google review

Sandy beach, mixed with pebbles. Great location. Sand dunes are a cool area for dogs to run around on quite days. Car parks are not much bigger than 10-12 cars each so could cause issues at peak times. Would recommend nonetheless.

Dan — Google review

Great big beach, all dog friendly.Collected two carrier bags of plastic on our walk along the ocean. Someone had left a huge builders bag of collected plastic waste just on entrance to the beach. I just hope it is picked up by the local council and not left to cover the area.

djslider01 — Google review

Beautiful, stunning, wide open beach. With a great added bonus of free parking. Clean toilets as well. While visiting, we watched a surf lesson and some expert kite flying! We however were very happy running in the sea even on a cold April day! Fabulous rock pools to explore. But best of all was Dobby's Grave - a must for Harry Potter fans.

Sarah Turtle — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Wales. It’s got everything you need. Long wide expansive beaches. It’s at least a mile long. Perfect for wearing out the kids or taking a romantic stroll in the sunset. Rock pools are ace. Surfing is a must here. Bring your boards. It’s been the host to many famous films. Probably most of all Harry Potter. It was where shell cottage was and of course Dobby the house elf died here. There is a huge memorial to Dobby. Stones and socks are places here. Some of the stones are painted beautifully. There is a mobile cafe here run now by a charity and it’s ace. Parking is free and plentiful but get here early or late for the best spots. Loos are clean and there is an RNLI guard on duty here during summer months. Go there, breathe in the air. Enjoy the wind , sea and sand. You’ll love it.

SAB photography — Google review

I genuinely really enjoyed the visit here.Cool little feature for Dobby from Harry Potter. The area was generally quiet when we went but the area is huge, enough to explore the whole place.

Adam Marsden — Google review

What a beautiful beach!!! We'd never visited here before but I've had it saved in my 'places to go' for a long time and it didn't disappoint.Gorgeous sand dunes provide the back drop to a lovely stretch of beach fine sands. The kids had an amazing time playing the in natural pools formed on the beach. Also, a must visit for any Harry Potter fans as it's Dobby's resting place. The tributes left at the 'grave' are really moving and it felt really serene looking around the site. The one sad thing about this beach, is the amount of micro plastics washed in by the tide, but this isn't a reflection on the beach itself. Also dog friendly all year round and plenty of space for them to run around. Highly recommend and we will be back

Donna Tuhey — Google review

Amazing place to visit. Was very busy and parking is difficult. Suggest getting there early. Visited dobbies memorial ❤ was a beautiful experience to share with the kids. and plenty of rock pools for the kids to explore.

"Dobbies Beach"A must for Potters and non Potters. A beautiful beach. We went to see Dobbies grave, but enjoyed a lovely beach, made better by a beautiful sunset and moonrise.

Spy Amongst Friends. — Google review

I love this place, not too busy when we went, so plenty of running for the dog. There is a toilet block at the car park but no other facilities.

Jandy Mind it — Google review

What a wonderful beach this is, especially if you’re a bit of a Harry Potter nerd (Dobby’s Grave just up on the sand dunes). Spectacularly long beach and, although there is a designated car park on site, there are plenty of pull-ins further up the road for free which only require a 1-2 minute walk to get to the beach itself.

Adam Tranter — Google review

Lovely little beach, not much parking and have to cross a very busy road. But it's lovely! Super cute that Dobbys grave was there too! Just turn right from the car park and it's on the sand dunes. My Harry potter fan daughter loved it! Lots of pebbles too!!

Amy May — Google review

What a fantastic beach with stunning views and the softest sand. I know the 'Dobby' memorial is a topic of heated debate, but being a family of Potter fans, we loved it; thanks to the National Trust for leaving it in situ if only for the time being.

A lovely setting with views of the sea on the drive in, the gardens are amazing but unfortunately are closing the end of October. Such a lovely walk around the lakes, with lots of paths leading off through wooded areas. The cafe has quite a variety on their menu, the cakes are amazing. The craft shops have an array of items for sale, on our visit some of the Christmas stock was available and irresistible, there's also a gallery with great paintings and also a pottery shop. Check before visiting after October 2021 to see what is open.

Valerie ?Queenbee? Lewis — Google review

Perfect, great location to explore all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. The site was very clean and well maintained. The gardens were so peaceful and dog friendly.

Vicky Rowse — Google review

A nice place to visit on a dry day. Gardens are good for couples, families and young children will enjoy the little houses to explore. The tea room overlooks part of the grounds and is a pleasant place to sit. Sandwiches are overpriced for what you get, items are served as a take away type item. £4 for a sandwich without crisps or salad to accompany it is overpriced in my opinion. Child's picnic bag is better value but comes with Lidl/Aldi products in it, I feel local sourced items would be a nicer touch. Bring packed lunch is the best plan with children as there are some lovely areas to sit around the gardens to eat. Lovely to sit down by the lily pond in the sun.

David Howells — Google review

This place is a real gem. The gardens are absolutely wonderful, very well looked after, and beautifully presented. We visited on a quiet day and it was very peaceful. Those with small children will also enjoy the gardens as they have some outstanding wooden houses around the paths that they will love exploring. The café is also a gem. Our sandwiches were gorgeous and the freshly baked scones with cream and jam were an almost spiritual experience. The gift shop is unlike gift shops in other attractions and they have a truly unique selection of wares. We came away with several antique bottles at a shockingly reasonable cost. All the staff we met were very friendly and chatty.I cannot fault our visit in any way. Loved it.

Thor Halfre?urson — Google review

Adults only location with a mixture of Hard standing and grass. At the time we visited we had the site to ourselves, being off the road it was really quiet and peaceful. They had nice gardens which the campers could walk around. One male and two female showers and 2 toilets in each. 20 minutes walk to nearest pub in Roch with limted opening hours, when open they served food.About 30 mins walk to the coast and it takes about 1 hour to get to Newlands beach.

Luke Kenyon — Google review

Get there before the end of October, the venue will be changing after that date! What a magical place...wondering through the wood's on well established trails, you'll come across all of these magical buildings dotted about everywhere...and more besides. The gardens are well kept, there is a café on site ,a gift shop with the most unusual items to purchase, a card shop and a potters workshop.Great place to take kids of all age's!

Jeffrey Cross (Twoswarms) — Google review

We got married at Hilton Court August 2022. Best decision ever!!! It's a stunning venue and every photo taken in the gardens looks fantastic. Rachael was incredibly organised and helpful but also let us organise the day exactly how we wanted it. The majority of our guests camped on site with us. Combination of tents, campervans, caravans and hired bell tents. Made the whole run up to the wedding much more relaxed being on site. The newly built shower and toilet area is fab, clean spacious, nice warm showers. We had a lot of children at our wedding who loved exploring the paths and wooden houses, hours of entertainment!!We were extremely lucky with the weather, pure blue skies warm and only a small breeze. We got married overlooking the lake and wow what a backdrop!!!!Would highly recommend Hilton Court as a wedding venue, you can make it what you want. We went for small and low key and it couldn't have been better.

Saint Govan's Chapel is a unique and photogenic 13th-century stone building located on the cliffs of Pembrokeshire Coast. It was named after Saint Govan, a hermit who lived there alone in the 6th century and whose history remains shrouded in mystery. The chapel was built into the limestone cliffs where it blends seamlessly into its surroundings, making it an excellent hiding spot for pirates.

Nice place to visit, it can be extremely windy, enough parking space. Not enough dog poop bins around so you have to carry them back in car, but pace was clean.Lovely place to go for picnic in summers. Go down the rocks and you'll find nice wide place to sit.

Gurinder Singh — Google review

Awe inspiring place! Beautiful location. What an amazing place to visit. I would recommend everyone to visit this site. There’s not many places in the world as unusual as this - and it’s free!Go there - you won’t be disappointed. On a practical note - it’s best to check ahead that it’s open, as you have to drive through military land to get there. Also take must be taken at the site because the steps leading down to the chapel can be slippery. Well worth it though.

Karl Sedgwick — Google review

Beautiful place for some cliff top walks. The views are stunning. This is near to a military firing range, so there are lots of signs telling you where you can or can't go. There's a large car park very close to the chapel which wasn't very busy when we went.

Stephen Mills — Google review

This quaint Chapel is located just a short distance along the path from the carpark at the top of the headland and down 70+ steps. There are plenty of free parking spaces here, but make sure to search for and check the CastlemartinFiring Notice to ensurethe access road is open to the public andthere's no military activity on the day.You can get a stunning vieweither sideof the Chapelfrom the clifftops above before you head down the steps. Look out for the rare Chuffs with their orange beaks and feet that reside around this location too. We saw quite a few as we walked around. As you arrive at the Chapel, look out for the large Bell Rock situated alongside the hermitage. You can read about it's fabled history on the notices found inside the building. Lovely views from both the window inside as well as from the small cove below. St Govan's Well can be found half way down to the shore. After touring here, don't miss out on another spectacular sitejust a third of a mile away,West along the coastal path - Huntsman's Leap. We'd highly recommend spending the day around this beautiful area of the Pembrokeshire coast.

David Booth — Google review

On my bucket list, visited it. Very special place. Free car park at top. Short 2 min walk to top of stairs. Looks like could be slippery when wet. Handrail to use. Steps go down into Chapel. 2 Chambers. Door out into cove. Tide on way out for an hour from high tide. Reasonable busy 11am Monday in august. Cafe on way back at Bosherston. Toilets in Bosherston car park. Well worth a visit. We'll signposted.

Jackie Robinson — Google review

Stunning. Picturesque. and simply Beautiful!!!A hidden little Gem that’s worth the find and well worth the visit!*NOTE* Parts of this area are in restricted zones 🚫 on particular days when the military are training. Be sure to check the website or phone up and ask prior to going. An awesome little building buried between the rocks. A great opportunity to go through the chapel and climb right down to the sea shore. Be careful as the tide can come and catch you. Some fantastic photo opportunities too.Parking is easy to find and access. It is also Free. There are steep steps to go down to the chapel . I wouldn’t recommend it if you suffer with bad knees or struggle with mobility as the climb back up is definitely felt on the legs and knees . Other than this, a fun place to visit.Tip: Visit ‘huntmans leap’ 10 min walk from here too. It’s fantastic!*Note: I am not condoning jumping the gap*

Trehan — Google review

Incredibly interesting place to visit and in such a picturesque location. We arrived early and had the place to ourselves which allowed for better photographs. I can recommend you visit. We walked from St. Govan's Chapel to Stack Rocks and the Green Bridge Of Wales and back. Around 24,000 steps but worth every one.

Alan Sutton — Google review

This is such a special little place that I remember clearly from my childhood. It’s a unique space and free to visit. Be aware that the steps are slippery as the grips have worn away in places so make sure you hold onto the rails. The beach below is made up of huge boulders so it is quite a scramble to get down to the water. The tide was in so we couldn’t see much, but I remember that there were some staggering rock pools when the water receded.

Donna Mann — Google review

Well worth a walk down. It is slippery so be careful and do not walk to the overlook when it has been raining eveni in good walking shoes. Stay on the stone. After, take a walk along the headland. It is beautiful.

Barnaby Kirsen — Google review

Right on the edge of the cliff so beware if the wind is blowing. Free car park just a few minutes away. Some steep stone steps (52 they say) to get down to it, but does have a hand rail. Chapel is small but dates back some 700 years. Due to the nearby MOD firing range best to check access before going.

Roy Sirl — Google review

Saint Govan's Chapel is well worth a visit.....if only to see the unusual sight of a small chapel built into the side of the cliff.Plenty of walks along the top of the cliff with amazing unspoilt views.Large carpark within easy walking distance.

Linda Haylock — Google review

Absolutely beautiful and quiet place. It's a small chapel tucked into the cliff. It has 2 small chambers which is narrow and dark. The chapel is signposted and located at the bottom of the cliff. There are some steep steps built which are useful and also a handrail is there for safety. It's famous for its location and view from the top is amazing. There is a small car park nearby which is free.Definitely the best place to visit in Pembrokeshire.

Prashant Shukla — Google review

Excellent attraction, a little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. No charge for parking, and easily accessible via the steps down from the top.Worth a walk along the top of the cliffs from here as well, as the views are very dramatic.

Rich C — Google review

Peaceful with amazingly clear and beautiful waters at the base. The spectacular building is easily accessible for fit and able bodied visitors but the stairs and steep accent and decent needs to be given for thought and consideration.

Ian Marquis — Google review

There are a number of picnic benches around, perfect for a picnic etc.Beautiful scenic walk, breathtaking and zen like.Definitely not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.Wear trainers or a decent shoe as the path is uneven, full of roots, rocks, etc. Really not a problem but just be careful.Very natural, not manicured and all the better for it.

Loved visiting Bosherston lily ponds recently. I was her in April last and the lily's had barely broken the surface of the water. Spring has sprung and now the lily's are in full bloom and absolutely stunning. It's a great place to have a walk around. Very accessible and everyone visiting seemed so friendly. There are lots of dogs on the trail too and my fur babies loved it. Some areas are a bit inaccessible but it wasn't a problem for me. You can also take the beach trail which takes you into the bay.

Sam Borsden-Doyle — Google review

A long walk around Bosherston lily pond. In summer the water lillies are an absolute beautiful sight to see. The water level was very high in March after the rain and the water was lapping over the wooden walkways. Half way round you come to a lovely sandy beach called Broad Haven South with Church Rock in the distance. Some sand dunes here.

Barbara Willco*cks — Google review

Fantastic day out its a bit of a walk but when you get to the end and arrive at Bosherton Beach it's well worth it. The Beach was stunning with caves and rock pools for exploring. There are a couple of narrow bridges you need to walk over to cross the lilly ponds but it gives you chance to stop and take in the lovely views.

Emma H — Google review

We didn't walk right round the area just from the 8 arches Bridge the back onto the coastal path enjoyed what we saw herons on the water damson fly landed on mmy hand. Unfortunately late into June the lily pods had finished flowering. Great path to walk on. We were glad to get some shade as it was hot. The woods were welcoming. Lovely area lots to see.

DAZ Ashton — Google review

Visited mid-morning on a weekdayNot many people, was lovely and quietWould 100% recommend walking boots or wellies! We saw swans, herons, otters, squirrels and loads of other birds! Plenty of wildlife so I'd say definetly bring binocularsLots of different paths to take, can also pop to the wildlife centre too!Parking is ample, it's cheap and available to purchase online and there's toilets at the car park

Alexandra Rogers — Google review

I'm sure it's lovely in June/July when the lillies are out but the rest of the year its just a lake. Note that it is a 30-45min from the car park to Broadhaven beach along a lakeside path through woodland that is not really suitable for those with restricted mobility. The beach is spectacular though when you get there and lives up to its name.

Mike Nalder — Google review

Nice walk to Broad Haven beach. Friendly staff at the centre and good parking. Follow the signs to find! Great walk and good views

Holly Keyse — Google review

Absolutely stunning. It was like something out of a fairytale or a movie! The walks through the woods leading to the beaches are lovely and then it gets even more beautiful once at the beach!

Gemma Hollingworth — Google review

Beautiful, large ponds with good paths all round. Gets very muddy in winter and parts of the lower paths may be flooded. If the bridge nearest the car park in underwater, then you need to take the higher paths.Wonderful wildlife, we have seen swans, cormorants, herons plus various breeds of duck and geese in the water. Squirrels, lots of butterflies, dragonflies and woodland birds in the surrounding forest and, if you are really lucky, you might see one of the resident otters.

Rich B — Google review

Great time of year to see the lilies. Hot day, but plenty of shade on both sides of the ponds. Great for dogs and a superb beach at the end. Brilliant beach for kids. Parking was reasonable for 3 hours and that's all you need for a walk around the ponds and some relax time on the beach.

Clive Jenkins — Google review

We walked with our 2 small dogs around the lily pond (the 3/4 mile route) to Broad Haven beach which took around 25 mins. There were a few steps but nothing too tricky. The walk was shaded by trees. The beach was stunning, and huge with the tide out. It was very quiet & peaceful. A wonderful walk. Parking was £3 for 3 hours, no other fee.

Sara Stubbington — Google review

Beautiful walk, never seen anything quite like it. The lilies seem to go on forever and there are bridges you can cross to get some gorgeous views. It's like a Monet painting. The walk at one point brings you to a gorgeous secluded, sandy beach.Lots of car parking and toilets but I wouldn't say it's accessible to wheelchairs. There's a nice café 150 yards from the car park.

Pembrokeshire Castle is a medieval fortress, which was the home of the earls of Pembroke for over 300 years. The castle is a great place to explore with vivid exhibitions detailing its history. It's also kid-friendly with wall walks and passages running from tower to tower.

Absolutely stunning. “You don’t go to Wales for the weather”, is what someone said to us. Pembroke Castle sits in the heart of the town. Beautiful place and a really nice walk all the way round. Every angle is worth capturing. If you have pleasant weather, take advantage of the boating on the lake. The walk is about 30min but well worth it. Pembroke Castle is also featured in the film 🎥 ‘me before you’.There is ample parking in the vicinity and also very reasonably priced. You can pay cash or via the ‘paybyphone’ app.A ‘must visit’ place if your in the area. A safe flat walk for all ages and abilities with no slopes/incline/decline or steps. Friendly for all.

Went for my wife's birthday, had a guided tour by a lady called sue , she was brilliant, really got us into the history of the castle, spent most of the day there, nice Cafe and displays. You can climb the tower and go down to the cave, really good day out. My kids really enjoyed it too, I've an eight year old girl and a ten year old boy.

David John Collings — Google review

Great day out no matter your age! We are a late 30s and early 40s couple, we really enjoyed our visit and seeing the history, definitely worth the fee and a visit if you're in the area!

Naomi Rudd — Google review

Nice place to visit with great historical value, you'll probably need a few hours to spare as there's soo much to view incl6the dungeons and caves! The kids loved it and we were assisted by a gentleman on site which told us about the best places/rooms to visit. Overall a great experience.

Didn't go inside as we had our dog, but walked around the outside and I have to say it looked magnificent. Incredible history associated with this castle, with being the birthplace of Henry VII, who would herald in the Tudor dynasty probably being the most significant. We parked in the parade car park, which is just £3 for the whole day, a lot cheaper than the Castle car park.

David Wright — Google review

Great place to visit, though allow plenty of time, there is a bit of a walk from the car park, (walk up the hill, as it's shorter than taking the path) we paid for 2 hours, & had to cut back early, as we ran out of time, there is a castle history video, in the gate house, (very informative) & you need to be fairly fit, to climb all the towers & steps, esp the main tower, however, stunning views from high up, entry was nearly £10 each, & a discount for oap's. Pay on entry at the gift shop, There is a cafe & toilets inside the grounds, although we didn't have time to try the cafe, it looks clean & modern,

Possibly the best Castle to visit in this area. Lots of history and info on the various towers and ramparts. Good cafe and facilities too. The free guided tour is what makes this a 5* attraction. Pauline was a terrific guide with so much knowledge about the castle and its history and really entertained us with engaging stories.

Mike Nalder — Google review

A large and amazing castle, one of the most complete and best preserved in the country. We visited on a horrible, wet and windy day, yet there is so much still complete that we hardly needed to go outside in order to be able to spend a fascinating afternoon looking around. There are a series of interesting exhibitions and video presentations, telling the story of the castle and also of the local volunteer regiments in the British Army.Well worth a visit.

Rich B — Google review

That is great castle with amazing views, great location, all the area is gorgeous. A lot of good bars and restaurants with outdoor space to enjoy with friends and family. Is great if just wont to go out for a walk around the castle and the lake. Is great for kids, dogs and honey bees.

Great specimen of a medieval castle. Steeped in history from soon after the Norman conquest till after the English civil War. There is no car parking on site, but there are several public car parks nearby. There are toilets, a cafe and gift shop on site. On certain days they have activities on, but you need to check for them. There is a guided tour included in your entry price if you want to take it.

Pembroke Castle is a very interesting place to visit. The guided tour gave us a lot of information about the history of the castle from the time it was built. Cafe was good. It has got indoor and outdoor sittings. Every where is clean. We really enjoyed the visit.

Cooking with Meiru — Google review

Really beautiful castle with lots to do and lots of places to explore! Dog-friendly which is great and there are lots of interesting facts too-definitely worth a visit and the view from the top is unreal! Also, the cafe is nice too!

Gemma Hollingworth — Google review

We had a great visit to Pembroke Castle, allow around 2 hours for the visit, there are lots of steps and walking but the access you have around this historical castle is amazing. Nice little cafe and shop there too.

Anthony Isaac — Google review

Had a great few hours at Pembroke Castle. We did the free guided tour , which was great and informative. It was surprising how much castle there is to see. The cave ( cavern) is a must to visit, if you can manage a lot of steps. The cafe was lovely with good food and a variety of choice.A big , thumbs up to Pembroke Castle.

Vivien Baker — Google review

A historical gem maintained in it's best form. A walk through the interiors of the castle could evoke the feel of watching a world portrayed in Game of thrones.😅A Guide's assistance is available for free from 1500hrs, This will help us understand the underlying details of the castle, its importance in the history of Wales.

Sarath chandran — Google review

One of the most amazing castles I've visited, there's so much to see and take in. The castle itself is phenomenal both in size and the amount that has been preserved to walk around and explore. There are so many rooms and staircases it's a little maze but in the best way as you're constantly finding something new. We were there for 1.5h until close, but I think could easily have spent a further hour working our way around everything. A highlight for me was the videos that played in darker rooms which were so fun as well as educational. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

Flora S — Google review

A lovely relaxed atmosphere and beautifully maintained buildings and grounds. There is so much to take in and the views from the towers and through the windows of the castle were amazing. We visited on my Birthday and I was treated to coffee and cake from the cafe, really friendly lady served us and the food was good. The parking is just across the road and was very reasonably priced with lots of spaces. The entrance fee for the castle was such good value considering how much there was to explore and how well presented it was. Nice little gift shop too.

Park

Oakwood Theme Park is a great place for the family to enjoy rides, mini-golf and a Neverland area. It is also home to some exciting roller coasters. Keep in mind that some of the attractions may not be suitable for small children unless they are supervised closely.

Old fashioned family fun day out ❤️ nice food at the cafe. Rides for small and big ones. Indoor soft play. Plenty of picnic tables.

Agnes Belle — Google review

When you think Alton Towers is only £5 more, this place pales in comparison. Around 25% of the park was closed (rides, shops, restaurants) so our day was easily done in a couple of hours. The rides that were open were good and no queue times. Staff members were friendly and chatty.

Naomi D — Google review

It was a very good visit I went on a Monday morning on a normal weekday and it wasn't that busy. The queues for the rides were between 10-30 minutes I rode most of the rides which were all perfectly fine and enjoyable. Although speed no limits roller coaster opened very close to when the park was shutting. I enjoyed it a lot. Would give it a 4.5/5

calcaluu — Google review

Absolutely fantastic day out. Yes some areas of the park need a lick of paint but this is reflected in the price and offers they have on at the moment.Toilets had been renovated and were clean and tidy, rides were excellent and the staff were brilliant with my son high fiving him and fist pumping him when he was going on the pirate ship repeatedly.I really got the feeling they were trying their best, yes the park could do with some investment but the day is what you make of it and my son (8) and I had a fantastic day. Megafobia since the retrack and refurb by the gravity group is something else. I went on this as a kid and I can 100% say I don't recall it being as good as it is now! They've definitely done alot of work to it.I'd definitely revisit, we had some food at the park (pizza) it was nice not cheap but not excessive about £15 which given costs today as to be expected.Mobile Signal across the park is non existent, absolutely not their fault but WiFi coverage could be alot better just for when you're queuing etc.Overall thou a superb day out, I'd definitely revisit and recommend to others with similar aged kids or you get teens etc. Don't forget to visit Neverland with Kids, I didn't even know it was there till I found it by accident.Could really do with a few more Map Boards.Overall, Well done Oakwood and Staff you're trying hard.

Thomas David — Google review

Lovely day out for the family but needs more public conveniences. Needs closer disabled parking and disability scooters for ease of those with mobility issues. Unfortunately, some rides not available until the afternoon which is a shame if you can only visit for the morning and some rides you have to pay for on top of purchasing an entry ticket.

S Willhart — Google review

What a beautiful park blended in with nature, perfect for familles with young children. We had a 9, 7 and 3 year old with us and they all had a great time. Us adults also had fun on the roller-coasters and the slides. We went on a rainy day and still managed to stay all day as there was no more than 10 minute queue per ride.

Oc?ane Bidault — Google review

The park was very quiet, so got on lots of rides the 2 I wanted to get on was both closed Megofobia and Drenched was told they should been opened soon

Bristolian Days Out — Google review

Great amusem*nt Park with several worthwhile thrill rides all at a very reasonable price. There is free parking on site. Toilets, food outlets and gift shops are also there. Staff were helpful and courteous. A fun day way had by the family.

Anthony Bourner — Google review

A very fun and interesting theme park. With a fair share of roller coasters too! Plenty of kiosks located through the theme park but on that topic some of the kiosks could have a bit more attention because most of it is stuck back in the previous years. Other than that would recommend a family trip out. (Teacups my favorite ride!)

S Martin — Google review

Free parking, there are some great rides, and fun for all the family. Queue times were not too bad, for the summer holidays, but I felt a mobile app would have made the day more enjoyable, so we could see queue times and find our way round easier. I also felt the park could be safer, had real concerns walking round. I do recommend a visit, and secure loose articles on megaphobia, as its really rough, and prepare to get drenched on drench.

Andrew Stevens — Google review

Very nice place. A couple of little rides which were fun to go on. Lots of fun for all ages, most things designed for over 1.1 meters(just to be aware of). Giant swing was expensive but very enjoyable. No queues for any rides!

Natty — Google review

We had a lovely time. The weather wasn't great and there were not many people (and very short queues!), only a few school parties and very few families. The staff were exceptional, from the train driver to the vertigo (and other ride) operators to the cafe staff, they were really friendly and helpful at all times and helped make it an excellent day. Thank you all so much!

Gareth Rhys Collins — Google review

Brilliant Theme Park. Visited during the school summer holidays on a day when the weather was supposed to be rain all day. However it was mostly dry and very few people around. Only had to queue for the bob sleigh - everything else we went straight on. My daughter went 3X consecutively on Speed, just stayed on and went again. Two times we were the only ones on the ride. The best had to be Megafobia which both of us thought was one of the best rides we have ever been on. We went on Megafobia five times. Coming from the London-area, we are used to visiting theme parks like Thorpe Park and Chessington and visiting on school inset-days only so we are not queuing for hours (but still can queue for half-hour to an hour). This was a breath of fresh air in comparison.

Alexandra Cole — Google review

arrived at 9:30 and went in at 10am. i had to wait 30 minutes for the park to open but i got on the first ride of megafobia. the rest of the rides at the park didn't have bad queues when megafobia was open, which was an issue when megafobia shut for a few hours. but i managed to get on megafobia 4 times and treetops 13 times during the 9 hours i was there for. visited on a wednesday, and the after dark was amazing! the people who run the colour fest are so enthusiastic and the fireworks are amazing! my only complaints about my visit are that there is no longer an unlimited photos option to buy when you get photos, and also that the rides were not specified when they close on wednesdays and saturdays so a lot of people got disappointed by not being able to ride rides in the dark.

Indoor swimming pool

The Blue Lagoon Water Park is a complex that offers various water adventures such as rides, flumes, rapids rivers, and a wave machine. It also provides scuba lessons for those who want to explore underwater. The park is located within Bluestone National Park Resort and is surrounded by 500 acres of unspoilt countryside. The Nippers Cove area is dedicated to children under five years old where they can safely splash about in confidence.

What a beautiful holiday venue! Everything about it was perfect. It is fantastic for everyone and especially for young families. And the staff are the kindest and happiest people ever! It was very relaxed but had a lovely balance of feeling we were being well looked after but not intimidated by rules. I believe this reflected in those who were staying as everyone was happy and relaxed. This is a very special place and we will return!

Tina Hayward — Google review

Great fun for everyone. Changing room staff worked really hard keeping the cubicles as clean as they could. Lifeguards were really friendly and the pirates added lots of fun and splashing for the children. We took our 7 month daughter in and she didn't want to come back out.The girls running the mermaid school were full of enthusiasm and fun and our 7 year old loved it.

Richard Manley — Google review

Long weekend stay. The accommodation was great, golf carts are mind numbingly slow. Food is limited but the grill restaurant is good. The fast food on site is very average and expensive. Good kids activities and free things, the sky wires waa brilliant for the kids.Smokey's was like a bad kids school disco, dreadful food, not a BBQ, which you had to sing for but the staff and band tried to make it a fun night. The pool used to be the crowning jewel of the resort but looks tired and is starting to look old and ugly and in need of some updating. No cafe inside which is a huge mistake as if you don't swim there is nothing to do and it's uncomfortably hot in the dome. The changing rooms are disgusting, dirty floors etc and need cleaning every hour when busy.

Mart Aaron — Google review

We had a 4 day vacation (12 people in 4 lodges) The resort is excellent; plenty to do for all ages.Bars and restaurants on site get busy so need to book in advance.A buggy rental is a must for getting around as the site is huge and hilly. The accommodation was spacious, warm and comfortable. However, the cleanliness of the accommodation fell below the expected standard and the lack of lodge inventory meant we had inconsistencies across the four lodges as to what equipment and utensils we should of had.(Had the cleanliness of the lodges been better I would have given 5 stars 🌟 )

Phill Arneaud — Google review

Recent visit to Bluestone and we visited the Blue Lagoon Water Park a few times. Great pool for families especially with the toddler area. We found this very warm and fun for our little boy. The lazy river is always a bit hit with children and adults alike in our family. The changing rooms area could be looked at a bit differently. On the three separate occasions we visited, we found the floor to be quite dirty from mud and general grime. The lockers were a bit tired and some of the wristbands were broken.Overall, really great fun though! And warm enough for our 1.5 year old so it made the difference as we were able to enjoy the Blue Lagoon Water Park for longer!

Steph J — Google review

Whilst some parts are looking dated overall a clean and well staffed water park. Never felt too busy and at times only a few families using the pool.Plenty of lockers (although a few with no keys) and plenty of changing facilities. Would be nice to have a couple of costume spinners available.

Mark L — Google review

Nice place to take the little one, if you’re looking for a nice 25m stretch to hammer out some lengths then forget about it, this is a play pool, but a decent one.Nice warm baby pool, good main pool and other bits. The changing rooms are fine and have everything you need. The lockers are free, no need for a quid, etc.The building itself is a bit basic and some bits of maintenance of the pool are a bit hit and miss - large build us of grime of the tiles / missing tiles in general.

Adam Wilson — Google review

We love visiting bluestone but the pool is definitely not reflective of the increasing prices to stay there. Tiles, especially outside, look really grubby, brown stains look awful. Half of the showers not working and just looks tired, nothing has changed in years. Need to spend more money on the current facilities rather than building more lodges.

B Davies — Google review

The water park was great. All the kids loved it including my 6 year old. She was even able to ride all of the flumes and slides by herself. Which was a first for her. My autistic son loves the lazy river and my other sons lover the wave pool. The only reason I didn't give it 5 start is because I had booked 2 of my sons on to the board rider at the end of the swimming session. Our tickets were scanned and waver form all filled in when we entered the pool so they could just go along and que up. There was no one on hand and when I went to find out I was told it was off as it wasn't working. The boys were rather disappointed but had rock climbing booked for 40min later, so the rock climbing cheered them up and took away from the board rider not working. My daughter enjoyed the soft play while the boys done climbing. The cafe was rather small and limited with what it sells and i actually mistaken it for a costa as the sign advertising it was massive. All in all it was a great day. Parking was a bit of a pain as we're not from Swansea and trying to find was difficult as I'm not use to driving in such a big fast paced city.

Clair Foster — Google review

Great pool ft wave machine every half hour, lazy river and 3 indoor slides along with a big outdoor one. Slides quite fast for those adrenaline seekers!

Bianca Davies — Google review

Could do with a good refurbishment. The changing rooms are OK the lockers need new locks/keys. The main issue was the pool itself, the tiles around and in the pool need replacing or repairing, the amount missing in the pool was shocking. I picked two tiles off the bottom of the pool floor which were just moving around freely.

OL11ZAC — Google review

Very clean and tidy, water at a good temperature and the baby pool was warmer than the main pool which made it a lot better for babies, staff very helpful and friendly, didn't try the slides but looked as people were having fun,Also this activity is Free.

Sean Johnson — Google review

A very popular water park for all ages.Several water slides, wave operation every half hour, shower facilities with lockers available for clothes and valuables. Indoor and outdoor pools , several lifeguards on duty during opening hours. There is some poolside seating available.

gerald mottram — Google review

I love going here! As well as a lazy river and a wave machine that goes off every 30 minutes, there are also 4 slides, which are all lots of fun. When I last went to Bluestone it was open to the public so we always went in the morning when it was open to residents but now it's only residents (you need to scan your room key - it is free though). Changing rooms are clean as well as the toilets which are easily accessible from the pool. The lockers are free but will take your pound if you try to put one in. The gift shop sells lots of swimming equipment and also ice cream and drinks. There is also seating in the gift shop.

Freya Prescott — Google review

Good pool and slides, and kids still love it, but starting to feel a bit tired now.

G Ratcliffe — Google review

A great place to take Grandchildren swimming and messing around in the water. A few small areas have tiles missing, so some refurbishment would be good but no sharp edges to worry about.

Craig Jennings — Google review

Pool is great, water was cold but just above bearable. However yesterday 28th December 23. They sent out a text message saying the pool was closed early and could not be used for the rest of the day. The Blue lagoon is one of the key features of Bluestone so disappointed with this.

Martin Jones — Google review

Great place for everyone to enjoy! Three different pools, waterslides and even swimming classes for the little ones. Well worth the visit.

Jonathan Lucitt — Google review

Lovely place!. Kids abseloutly loved it here!. The wave pool is a big hit!. There are 2 jacuzzi's type hot pools one inside one outside. And a few slides which kept my 12 year old very amused!. And not forgetting the lazy river! Plenty of fun to be had here!. We stayed at bluestone resort so swimming was free.

The Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is a fantastic place to go with the whole family. There are tons of activities to keep them entertained, from exotic animals to exciting fair rides. The staff are always friendly and helpful, making it a great day out for all.

Amazing day out for all the family, so much to see and do. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the areas are clean and safe with plenty of facilities dotted around the park. There are plenty of parking spaces with more than enough disabled parking towards the front of the entrance. Worth a visit every time we are in Wales, highly recommend to all.

Mark Matthews — Google review

Good as one off but quite expensive.Nice zoo area, penguins were the favourite. I'm not sure about farm yard, all the animals and not a person in sight anytime we were in. Anything could be happening. They no longer have any meet the animal style visits as part of normal tour. I asked specifically as we had met ferret and rabbits previously.Expensive as adults and children pay in, the 2 kids went on the diggers and cars and used up 18 of 20 tokens we had bought just on 2 rides, so you're looking at more costs to do any of the rides when there.Without any expenses aside from ticket and tokens it cost £103.80 vs £70.66 for same entrance and same tokens 3 yrs ago as I still have the emailed receipt. We probably spent another £10 on additional tokens as well as some rides cost more tokens now than previously.Playgrounds are nice and the kids d enjoy the boats and the large indoor play area. You can sit in middle of indoor area and see children run around you.We went on quiet day, so we had the best experience. We brought a packed lunch, lots of tables to eat at but beware the seagulls.

Helen McIntyre — Google review

Booking in advance gives you 90days from point of purchase to use ticket. No way to book one day. No difference in price on the gate either.Get ticket validated when leaving gives you a free return visit within 7days.We have visited multiple times over the last 8years as part of our holiday to South Wales. The indoor fayre is beautiful and well maintained. The history is available to read by the rides also, or fun rides for everyone. I'd recommend the wristbands as the individual token price is expensive. The zoo side is smaller than the other local animal park but we loved the lions and penguins.Well worth a visit.

Emily Aylward — Google review

A wonderful family day out! Plenty of places to duck inside if it's raining too! So much for the children to see and do - animals are great, place is well kept and the indoor funfair is spectacular! We visit whenever we're in the area and we are never disappointed!

Dawn Roberts — Google review

We love Folly Farm, they are constantly adding new attractions, we have been coming here for years, our children have now grown up and given us four lovely grandchildren who love it just as much. There is something to do whatever the weather, if it is dry then visit all the animals and have a picnic outside or if it is wet take a tour of the animals that are located inside and visit the beautifully restored vintage funfair rides. There is far too much to see and do in a day, it is a real gem of a place to visit, I thoughroughly recommend it.

Davidc Ceasar — Google review

A magnificent place for young kids and maybe even better for the adults! The range of animals is incredible and there's a lot of other things to do - including a lot to do indoors, which is good on rainy days. Also good for rainy days is the current 'Free return visit offer', which allows you to visit again within seven days for free (well, it was good apart from a bizarre argument with the girl at the entrance, whose first instinct was to not honour it despite us doing everything right). Check the website to see whether that offer is available and how to claim it. There are good food options, including the burgers.

Paul Richards — Google review

Absolutely brilliant farm/zoo experience. Massive site, really clean with plenty of maps. Animals have really well maintained enclosures and seem very well looked after. Lots of variety, tons to see. We spent just over 3 hours there and we could have stayed longer!I absolutely loved the Vintage Fairground place - the old wooden rides and vintage games were right up my street. The entrance fee is quite high but then it must cost a fortune to run a site this big.Well worth a visit.

dpw81 — Google review

Fantastic day out so much to see and do.we actually did not get round everything and we were there 6 hours.the farm park had lots of animals very clean .the zoo was the same and the fun fair was both indoors and outside so something that could be done in any weather. I had 5 kids with me ages from 3 up to 14 they all really enjoyed the day. It was the best day out I have ever had and I have been on quite a few . Will definitely go back next time I'm in area .really good value for money.

lesley cocup — Google review

Loved, great fun, good amount of animals. The vintage fair is a good price with the bands or without.Good size play areas outside and inn and if you return within 7 days you get free entry, we were were camping within the area so this was great for a rainy day whilst saving a bit of cash.My daughter also done a penguin experience here and it was well worth the money, the zoo keeper was amazing with my daughter and she had a little gift at the end with a certificate.

Natalie Miller — Google review

Brilliant day out! We went as two adults to visit the zoo and were able to spend the whole day there taking everything in. Loads of animals to see and all seemed really happy and content. We were there in October, not half term, so the park wasn't too busy either which was perfect. The only negative for me was the piped music and speech which at times was grating, but otherwise it was a fabulous day out and we'll certainly be back again!

Flora S — Google review

We are so lucky to have this incredible place on our doorstep. It' has everything you could want in a day out, plenty of things to see, do and eat!We always start our day with the walk around the zoo, make our way back to the jolly barn and other attractions in that vicinity, we head to the fair to get our fudge and donuts, have a little play in the play area (which is huge!) And head outside again to finish the day with the outdoor fair and adventure parks. This is an all day thing for new visitors if you want to see everything arrive promptly as soon as it opens! I've been several times a year for about 10 years now and we don't see everything in one visit as we spend a lot of time doing the things we know we love first,Absolutely plan your day. Especially if you have children of different ages, ride wristbands are cheaper if your children love rides. I don't bother because mine only like 1 or 2 so not worth the wrist band each. Check out the website for further info on their rides and heights etc. They usually have a boomerang offer where you can come back for less than half the price if you return within 7 days. I strongly advise this if your holidaying near folly, you can enjoy 2 days there without rushing around to see everything in 1.Eating facilities are spread throughout the park as well as toilet facilities.Food isn't cheap, but is nice.Toilet facilities are always clean!

Faye Rees — Google review

What an absolutely amazing attraction.Very friendly staff who were really polite and welcoming. The site was impeccable, excellent facilities and the animals were kept in spacious and immaculate conditions. We've purchased a season ticket and will be returning many times throughout the season.Top quality attraction which is clearly run by excellent leaders with passion and foresight.

Absolutely fantastic. Easy to find and such a lot to see and do. Had never been before and our grandsons had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Definitely no hesitation in recommending.

Melanie — Google review

A wonderful little farm with plenty to do we went at opening time and stayed all the way until closure announcement, we could have also returned within a week for free due to the offer they run if you keep your receipt but we didn't have a free day to return, however I would recommend a day and a half if you have children who love animals, playing on play areas and arcade rides. If you have animal loving kids only then one day is perfect. Food places are decent value, the sweet stand that sells doughnuts is amazing. The indoor play area is huge and brilliant for kids, the outdoor play areas are also huge and just fantastic for high imagination playing. We were lucky enough to go on a quiet day so we didn't have any queues or crowds to worry about. There is also a play area for under 5s which is such a great idea as I used to struggle to find safe play areas when our daughter was young.

Rosey Capewell — Google review

What a fantastic place to visit. The zoo is brilliant, plenty to see with great enclosures. The farm is great for younger children with all sorts of little animals that they can also stroke if they want. Lots of outdoor activities and themed play areas as well for when the weather is good. But also an enormous indoor vintage fairground and softplay area for when the weather isn't the best. The opportunity to come back within 7 days for free also meant we had 2 full days here, as there was just so much to see and do. This was a great find and something I would recommend to those with both older and younger children.

Andy Baldwin — Google review

Ideal day out for everyone, from kids to grandparents. Not a bank breaker in comparison to similar attractions, plus you can validate your receipt to get free access again within 7 days. And if you're local, an annual pass pays for itself within three visits, so why not?Enough to fill a day, different things to suit different ages, super clean and tidy, lots of play and picnic space. And though the car park was absolutely packed when we arrived, the park didn't seem overly busy.Genuinely a perfect day out.

Bethan Hilsdon — Google review

Great day out. Plenty of things to do. Lots of indoor activities for the kids if the weather isn't great. Food was good in the restaurant and great that you can come back again within 7 days for free making it half price if you come twice.

Outdoor Activities

Poppit Sands Beach is a beautiful sandy beach located in Pembrokeshire County, West Wales. The beach is popular for windsurfing, kayaking and surfing, making it great for all ages. There are sand dunes which add to the beauty of the beach. The beach is also dog friendly and has lifeguards on duty during the summer.

Lovely beach for families with supervised swimming area popular with body boarders. RNLI base and shop, small cafe and access to coastal path which is stunning!! Car park gets very busy - use the overflow at peak times.

Mark Bocks — Google review

Lovely, clean flat sandy beach, very accessible brought grandma in a wheelchair. Parking is easy and there is a shop & cafe close by. Dog friendly on one side. We had a fabulous day here!

Julie Stansfield — Google review

Amazing beach even though it was wet, cold and windy. Can imagine it in the height of summer being beautiful. Amazing facilities nearby and parking too.

Francois Stoop — Google review

Beautiful beach, very clean with a lovely little cafe. The car park directly over the road, it is pay and display but 30 minutes free if you just want a quick stroll.

Sonia Plevin — Google review

Stunning golden sand and clear blue sea. Ample car parking and overflow car park. Cafe and ice cream available in cafe at edge of car park and separate toilet block. Sand does blow a bit when it's windy but a great beach!

Suzanne Bayes — Google review

This beach is absolutely beautiful. It was the first beach our rescue dog has been to and he had a blast - a must visit for anyone with a reactive dog, as it was very quiet when we visited and it was easy to avoid any other dog walkers if you need to. The café next to the car park sells lovely coffee, cakes and sandwiches.

Alana Perryman — Google review

This beach is so beautiful 🥰 the sand is very fine and soft, there aren't many people around, doggies are welcome and there's a cafe that makes the yummiest toasties ever!!! What more could you ask for?! Well maybe free parking but you cannot have it all I suppose. To be fair the parking is not that expensive. There are also small toilets just before the beach which is great. We stayed most of the day and had an amazing time. My doggies absolutely loved the sand. You can spend about half an hour to an hour walking along the beach looking for the odd seashell. Please be mindful that on the left side just after the rocks doggies are not allowed. But that's ok. Must see!!!

Vik Z — Google review

A great beach to visit even on a cold, wet day. Plenty of parking and toilet facilities. There is a cafe but was closed as it was Christmas day.

Mark Matthews — Google review

Extremely busy on Sundays ! Struggled to park and the overflow car park wasn’t open.Massive beach and lovely to see groups of people training. Queue for the cafe was long and very popular ! But nice staff & hot drinks to warm up after ❤️ lots of lovely people and socialising! Dog haven.

Nicola Osbon (Nikki) — Google review

Loved it here, very peaceful. Nice walk along the beach followed by a visit to the cafe for cuppa. Good car parking and dog friendly.

Dave Purser — Google review

Beautiful large beach with shade if needed. Rock pools with little fish and lots of space to look for shells or play with dogs.

Sara Williams — Google review

Lovely, unspoilt and uncrowded. Great for dogs and humans! Kids will love the sand and rock pools, explore the sand dunes too.Lovely coffee shop next to car park.

Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park is a family-friendly attraction with beautiful views of Cardigan Bay. Visitors can hand-feed the animals and enjoy the outside park, which is quite large. The food options are limited and expensive, but the stunning scenery makes up for it. The friendly animals add to the ambiance of this lovely place. One can also catch a glimpse of seals down by the bay, although it requires some walking effort to reach there.

Lovely place; happy and friendly animals, good food and the price is good. What got us the most were the amazing views! We managed to spot a couple of seals down the bottom (it's a bit of a walk for little legs but worth it) Would definitely recommend and will be back here ourselves.

F T — Google review

Visited 25/10. £25 for 4 adults and 1 child, good entrance fee. Animal feed 80p a bag. Even on a blustery afternoon the scenery was good. Nice long walk along the cliff top to spot seals , which we saw 3 . Even my 2 teenage daughters liked it there. Friendly staff. Recommended place to go with kids, even have a big play area. The toilets were clean

Gary Read — Google review

Huge cafe, lots of picnic tables. Posters said going for 30 yrs, looked brand new!Costal walk quite accessible. Saw some seals 🦭.Loved the play area and of course feeding the animals. Very safe and well thought out.Lots of free parking.

J — Google review

Wow what a hidden gem. Amazing views. Lovely run park. Great for dog walking as well. Cafe was great. Shop was great as well, selling many local Welsh products. Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Deborah Newton — Google review

We visited as a family of 4 with 2 children (5&8) and our dog.The park is nice for children and we were able to spot some seals. The children loved giving food to llamas and sheeps. It was a bit muddy and windy so sensible shoes and clothing is required depending on the weather.Overall a great experience!

Sophia Di Centa — Google review

Lovely place, but expensive and no return offers or season / annual pass options.Scenery is amazing; it's in a fantastic location. Kids loved the park and feeding the animals. Wonderful walk along the island edge.

Steve B — Google review

Lovely park we stayed on the campsite and visited the park daily. It does get busy during the days but when staying on the site you can visit before and after day visitors. It is dog friendly and they have a great selection of animals to see. The views are amazing on coastal walk to see the seals and dolphins. The campsite does get busy so does require booking.

Carol Clay — Google review

All parts of our visit were either good or great. Would recommend. Coastal walk to see the seals is longer than anticipated, and would not recommend for little legs or the frail or heavily pregnant. But there's plenty for kids to see, to make it work visiting without doing the walk.

Jonathan Broughton-Humphries — Google review

Great little farm park by the coast. Would definitely recommend a visit here, especially with younger kids. They will love it. For a £5.00 entry fee, I expected there to be hardly any animals, but there was actually a lot more than expected. Definitely buy 2 or 3 bags of food for the many hungry animals waiting. Plenty of sheep, goats, and alpacas, waiting to hungrily gobble up some food from your hand. They also have ponies, donkeys, pigs, and cows, which you can feed but not by hand. There's plenty of free car parking just outside and several kids play areas. They have a huge cafe and shop too which is very reasonably priced and sells great slushies and hot chocolates. Dogs are also welcome if kept on a lead which is a bonus. There's also a walk you can go on and get some stunning cliff/ sea views and if you go right to the end you're guaranteed to see some seals and if you're particularly lucky maybe even some dolphins, probably wouldn't recommend doing the walk with young kids as its quite far to walk. A must go if you're in the area.

Olivia Brogan — Google review

Great views of the island and almost all the animals were eager to be fed. We got to see some seals that were popping their heads out of the water to look at us. Later in the day, it got quite busy in the building so we couldn’t find anywhere to sit but overall, the place was lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and/or a family who is looking for something fun to do.

Taylor Nield — Google review

This is a beautiful location rain and or shine if you’re in the neighbourhood. Kids can be free and playing. Feeding farm animals. City kids this is a wonderful experience. Getting close and real. This in lieu of farm yard animals being visible on social media only.

Paul Britton — Google review

Came here for the first time with my children aged 4,9 and 12. They all enjoyed it. Hand feeding the animals to the stunning views of cardigan bay. The food was expensive and not a lot of choice. Had to wait in line for a very long time but to be fair the place was busy and the 2 ladies were working as quickly as they could. The kids enjoyed the outside park which was pretty big. Overall a good family day out. Will come again but I will bring a packed lunch.

Nisey Smith — Google review

An easy day out for the family at a good price. Close access to most animals and if you're lucky, you'll get to see the seals at the end of the walk. Cafe is very good but kitchen was understaffed when we were there which led to a very long wait for our food

Rob Denham — Google review

We stayed at the campsites for 2 nights mid-week. The views are amazing and with the beautiful weather and long days we had an excellent stay. The farm park itself is good (a great playground) and it was handy for campers to have access to the park after it closed to the public. Great for kids. On the downside I didnt feel much thought was put into the campsite itself. The facilities were a bit basic and getting 50p for the showers was a bit of a hassle. A table could be included in the large kitchen container so it could be used in wet weather.

Victoria Toole — Google review

Great value for money at the farm. Plenty to occupy children with the play areas. Beautiful walk and excellent views. We spotted some seals on our walk. 🦭 Dogs are also allowed in most of it. Large carpark.

Lorraine Banks — Google review

Loved our visit to the farm. Great views all along. Plenty of farm animals to see. Got to spot Seals close to the Cardigan Island. A must visit spot in the Mid-Wales area.

Vijay — Google review

The farm itself if amazing, very well kept the animals are very clearly looked after to the highest standard. Very good value for money and you get a big bag of food for a small cost. There’s so many different animals to see from rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, horses, pigs and llamas and also if your lucky you could see some dolphins

Casey Lloyd-Jones — Google review

What a perfect place for a campsite. It could do with a couple more showers but that small issue is more than made up for by the wonderful setting and views over the bay and estuary. The farm animals and wildlife and great little cafe are the icing on the cake.Friendly owners and dog friendly too. There are a couple of good hotels within easy walking distance (one with a golf course) and Cardigan is a short drive away with plenty of good places to eat. Can’t wait to return.

Paul Harris — Google review

A really lovely place to visit . Saw seals and various seabirds . The farm animals were all very eager to eat .We had a great lunch and service great too . We have visited several times before but were a bit concerned for the large pig as it was limping and some of the ponies hooves looked as if they needed trimming along with the Alpacas hooves too.Hope to visit again soon

Mandy Preece — Google review

A brilliant little find! Fab day out. Amazing views over the bay. Lots of animals to feed. Really enjoyed the coastal walk. Spotted a few seals on our way round. Our son is too old now for the play area but it looked brilliant. In door coffee shop is massive. Loved the look of the animal shaped cookies / chocolates. Think we will have to come back for some of those. Reasonably priced - didn't notice any option to upgrade to a season ticket as we definitely would have as we are literally staying 15 minutes away.

Francesca Cane — Google review

Visited today with my family, we got very lucky with the weather. Lovely few hours spent with the animals and walking down to the cliffs. Child friendly and very large park to play in. We didn't eat but the food looked good quality and valueAdmission for 2 adults, 1 child and 2 packs of animal food £15

Cardigan Castle, a historic riverside castle in Wales, is currently undergoing redevelopment as a community-run establishment. It played an important role in Welsh culture as the site of the first competitive National Eisteddfod in 1176. After years of neglect, it has been restored through a multimillion-pound refurbishment and now serves as a major hub for local Welsh culture.

Absolutely beautiful place, not the biggest castle but very pretty, well renovated and lots of info spots. The on site restaurant I cannot hype enough. Catered for my nut allergy without any issues/fuss. I had the steak and cheese baguette and it was incredible. The on site shop was decently priced I thought. The icing on top is that for every ticket you get free entry for an entire year so you could visit as much as you liked for that. £7 entry for adults.

Hayley Thomas — Google review

Me and my partner were in the area and decided to visit this petite castle which drapes over this charming town. Steeped in history and with an impressive view of the area it was an entertaining way to conclude our visit.

Dominic — Google review

£7.00 each to see not a lot, a few parts of the walls, nice green lawn, lovely kitchen garden, lots of toilets due to music festival about to take place. You are better off keeping your £7.00 and taking photos of the outside of the castle walls.

Martin Benton — Google review

Nice grounds, well kept. No castle or anything to do with a castle, except the wall. Which most towns allow you to walk around for free...Not as expensive as other castles but not worth the price, sorry.

Siobhan Kerr — Google review

Absolutely lovely place to stay. The staff are super friendly, the food is gorgeous and on the whole the room was good. We had Y Copa, top floor B&B (twin). The room is clean and very well appointed with a lovely bathroom. However, there is a but.The room has one small window at shin height onto the street and one small window in the bathroom. And a skylight. There is absolutely no view from the room, of anywhere, unless you sit in the bathroom. In addition, the room is super dark even on the brightest of days. I know it's difficult as the building is probably listed, but if a view and good light is what you want, pick a different room.We would definitely stay again, but in a different room. As I said, absolutely faultless otherwise.

Neil Stewart — Google review

Pleasant castle run as an independent historic monument. The guide doing the tours was excellent, he did not rush round or overload people with non relevant facts which made it very enjoyable. There are toilets, restaurant and gift shop on site. You will have to use one of the nearby car parks for access

Anthony Bourner — Google review

Small castle to wander round but very interesting all the different parts. Lovely views. Cafe there served a really good selection of food and very tasty. Shop at the end sold some interesting items made by local artists. Well worth a visit.

Janeta Watts — Google review

Interesting venue with plenty of history and recently set up document archive that's not yet digitised.Very well kept grounds and plenty of information in the house itself (dogs not allowed inside) even a play ground for smaller children. Not quite enough for more than a half day but with a ticket giving you a full years access is worth keeping the receipt for a return visit.

Mike Yarworth — Google review

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There is not a great deal to see of the actual castle but the information videos, sculptures and information in the house built in the grounds (which is interesting in itself) bring the castle and its importance to Cardigan, to life. Great views from the remaining castle walls. So impressed at how the house in particular was brought back by dedicated volunteers after years of neglect. Also really enjoyed our lunch in the restaurant - delicious food and very pleasant service. Really worth a visit (even in the rain!!)

Joan Daniell — Google review

This was the most modern castle I have visited, not really a castle more like a house with castle walls around the grounds. I must admit that I did not think it was worth the £7 entrance fee. Some of the rooms were empty. The most interesting part of the house was the ghost stories from the staff members.

Traeth Mwnt is a charming and picturesque beach situated in the National Trust-owned land. It features a rectangular strip of sand, flanked by towering cliffs, and overlooked by the dome-shaped Foel y Mwnt headland. This well-maintained beach offers several amenities including lifeguard services, beach cafes, and toilets.

Welsh beauty like from a fairytale scenery. A small beach surrounded by cliffs and a hill. One of the places for constant returns. The perfect place for a few days escape from cities and towns for the whole family. A paradise for a dog!

Just visit, don't hesitate. The best beach I've visited in Britain, simply stunning! Me and my young family has an excellent afternoon here and we'd certainly visit again in the future.Parking, toilets, food and drinks are available. The beach is accessed down 100+ steps so please bare this in mind.

This place is great a must if you're nearby. You can spend all day there. Sun and sea galore. Toilets shop attended parking what more could you ask for. Thanks National Trust. My £4 parking fee was money well spent.

Stunning headland and beach.. beautiful ancient church as well.. compliments one of the most superb ..spectacular ocean views..in my opinion..in the world. Visited in hail storm 4 December 2021. A lifelong memory...

Graeme Archer — Google review

Lovely but small beach. Steps down to the beach weren't as step as expected and were fairly easy to navigate down and up. Plenty of coastal paths to explore with some great views. Toilets and small cafe on site.

Sarah Rowe — Google review

One of the best beaches in the UK, with a lovely waterfall. Good beach to play sports on and build Sandcastles. With clean water to go for a paddle In and hills blocking the intense wind.I highly recommend it for families and friends, going near the place for a few nights.

iHarveyMan — Google review

Lovely beach with a mound to scale and a historic church, great views including plenty of wildlife, you may even see a dolphin or a seal. Cafe has had a refurb and is really good, walk to the beach is a few mins down so good steps and is National Park run so you'll have to pay if not a member

Joseph Bryant — Google review

A friend recommended this place towards the end of our holiday in Wales and what a surprise it was what he told me about the beach didn't do it justice. We arrived there early my wife and mother in law stayed at the cafe at the top whilst me and our daughter went down to the beach we spent 2 hours in the bay and when we had finished we climbed up the hill and the view was outstanding and the little church just made the place so beautiful. Definitely going back again if we visit that part of Wales again

Ivor richards — Google review

Such a beautiful beach! Not much in the way of rock pooling, so I'd avoid buying anything specifically to use just for catching things here. Coffee was amazing in the cafe, toilets here too and the car park was only £4 all day!

Adam Miller — Google review

Can't believe I haven't written a review for Mwnt yet, but here goes. It's one of the best beaches in West Wales - certainly in Ceredigion. The sand is almost elevated here, and you step down into the water. Pretty quickly, you're submerged, not like other beaches where you have to wade out for miles before you can swim. This is great, as it means you can go for a proper, good swim and still be really close to the shore and the sand, but watch out for babies and kids playing for the same reason. View from the engulfing cliffs are also spectacular. From the far side you can look out and over towards Cardigan island and on with weeks like we've been having recently, which have been super sunny, there's no better place on earth. There's even good dolphin spotting here, and they've been very active this late June. Wonderful little cove, and a hidden gem amongst many dotted around the magnificent Welsh coastline.A few things to note, there is a steep decent down the steps to get to it, and it's unfortunately not for everyone. There are 142 steps in all to get down to the beach. Secondly, the app you might use for parking in West Wales - PayByPhone - does not work here, due to no phone signal in the car park. That's the one with the little church, Eglwys y Grog, in the background. You need to bring change, as well as money for the small shop at the summit of the steps. Just in case, like.

A hidden gem! We thought it was a small garage but when we entered what a surprise! You walk into a large barn with displays and through to a garden which houses an Anderson Shelter and a small cottage, filled with period household items. It was like being at my gran's!In what is an old garage they have small displays of various millitary memorabilia and a fully restored military van.The volunteers are knowledgeable and more than happy to share what they know. The only funding they get is entry fees so go visit!!!!

Castles

Laugharne Castle, also known as Castell Talacharn, is a renowned historical landmark in Wales that dates back to the 12th century. The castle was famously inhabited by celebrated poet Dylan Thomas, who wrote Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog while residing there. It offers stunning views overlooking the River Taf and invites visitors to explore its medieval castle remains, Tudor mansion and gardens.

Beautiful visit and wonderful views. Love the history here too. Kids had a fab time completing the quests dares! Added bonus with the visit from wings of Wales seeing the beautiful birds of prey. Lovely afternoon out and a picnic 😊

Rebecca Hughes — Google review

Really enjoyed my visit here today. Small castle to visit including a tower to climb, we even had a game of chess in the garden.Lovely walk with the dog along the coastline to Dylan Thomas' boat House and writing shed, had a rest and a cuppa at the boathouse. Spent a good few hours here. 😌

Deborah Brown — Google review

Beautiful historic village, sleepy and welcoming. Castle stands proudly over the estuary....simply beautiful. Also, the walk up to The Writing Shed of Dylan Thomas. Shame his house wasn't open

Jo Thomas — Google review

Such a beautiful castle, full of history with stunning viewsThe gardens are lovely and there's plenty of room for kidsCADW cards at the ready as it's £5 each for entry (well worth it!)

Alexandra Rogers — Google review

Small but interesting site. Linked to Dylan Thomas amongst others and given the amazing views across the flats, it's understandable why it has inspired so many over the years.Only parts of the outer walls still remain. However, you can climb up inside one of the two great towers to enjoy the views from the top.The castle is the most striking feature of the picturesque village it dominates, and the regular flooding of the carpark and high street on certain high tides just adds to the charm of the place.

Michael Lees — Google review

Beautiful from the outside and even more so inside. Such an iconic part of a more modern part of historic Wales incorporating the famous poet Dylan Thomas and where he pulled his inspiration from to write such beautiful words. If you have a Cadw pass then do not pass by without popping in to see. With regular shows like birds of prey displays or treasure hunts there's lots to do and learn about. And on rhe plus side you can take your dog.

jon staples — Google review

A great setting. Set on the high ground overlooking the estuary. There is a wealth of history available to experience here, including the town and its connections with Dylan Thomas. It is easy to see why historical elites, and poets, would choose to settle in this magical place...

Lovely To Experience Such A Beautiful Old Castle.. Really Nice Views, Dog friendly & Cute Little Shop With Nice Ladies Working There. Very Welcoming

Sarah Parsons — Google review

A fantastically preserved ruin! A little quest for the kids with dares and missing words make for fun learning! My toddler particularly liked the trimmed hedges as he ran around with only the top of his head visible. There are live actors dressed up and a small camp to get involved with. The ice cream is incredible!

Tom Wise — Google review

This is a majestic old castle on a commanding hill looking out over the River Tar.We got free entry using our Historic Scotland cards and received a very warm welcome from the staff. The building is in pretty good repair taking account of the recent restrictions due to COVID and the coastal position, but there are parts where caution needs to be used. There is a small gazebo that Dylan Thomas used to contemplate and write. There is plenty of Pay and Display car parking.Nice place worth a visit and a good stroll round. The surrounding town with its association to Dylan Thomas means that you can make a day of it.

Alan Holt — Google review

Great little castle, not very big but has got some brilliant views from the top, defernatly worth a visit if you're in the area. Lovely kept gardens as well.

Pete / Hel Havard — Google review

Lovely castle ruins in the most beautiful setting. So much history and the added extra of the home town of Dylan Thomas . Stunning scenery and fantastic walks. Plenty of places to eat and drink to suit all.

Malcolm Thomas — Google review

Absolutely lovely place, we will definitely come here again. The grounds have been kept tidy and there is lots of history readily available of the castle within the grounds.

Aiden PowelI — Google review

Second time visiting, came back in 2019 but this time the weather was better so the views were fantastic. Lovely maintained grounds and friendly lady in the shop. My son loved his 'medieval' coins he received for completing the quiz 🙂

Claire Simpson — Google review

We were camping in wales and wanted a break from the surroundings so decided to check out laugharne castle. Really well kept, the grounds are lovely and you can take dogs but it is very small. Only took 30 minutes to look around it all. The shops nice and so are the two ladies who work there. There are no toilets, you have to walk down the street where you are charged 20p for a not so nice experience. There was an ice cream van in the car park which served excellent ice creams. The area below the castle is really picturesque and a nice walk. I would recommend for a easy day out.

The Dylan Thomas Writing Shed museum is located in a picturesque spot overlooking an estuary that inspired the poet's work. The house, where Dylan Thomas lived with his family from 1949 to 1953, has been restored and features historical exhibits, an art gallery, and a tearoom. Visitors can see the parlour restored to its 1950s appearance with memorabilia such as a desk belonging to Thomas' father. Upstairs features photographs, letters, and a video about his life.

A beautiful place to visit and watch the world drift by. When you have taken in and absorbed the stunning scenery it is so easy to see why Dylan Thomas loved it and drew inspiration

Writing shed is Free to enter. The boathouse is £6 to enter unless you go in and by a cup of tea. Misunderstood the map which looks like you can do a circuit route. Unfortunately no through way

Really Great views when I visited a a while ago, peaceful neighbourhood and great for walks to get the heart rate going!

I could see myself living there...such a wonderful place

We saw the Boat House on a walk round Laugharne. It is a pretty building and has stunning views. Not sure about entry times / fees but please see attached photos for that.Think there is a cafe there for spring/summer times

Annie Charles — Google review

Lovely experience. Beautiful setting. Always wanted to visit. Only thing that let this place down was that clearly whoever was making the coffees has no idea what a latte is. Took the lid off my papercup and it looked awful. Like grey / murky water, tasted disgusting too. Pretty sure they don’t have a proper bistro coffee machine, and that it was all done by kettle and bought in coffee from a tin. Prices ridiculously overpriced if that’s the case!!!

Katrina RT — Google review

The scones at the tea room were simply wonderful. All freshly made. We never pass the opportunity to stop here for coffee and cake. Lovely location and the ladies are always ready with local advice.

Amazing place best view for sunset and mind blowing sunflower garden farm🥰

DhavaL Kasavala — Google review

Beautiful beach, tons of shells washed up on the shore, just beautiful. Nice long stretch of beach you can walk along. It is very flat but the walk down to the beach is a steep incline. There is a bench half way to rest on half way. You can see worms head from the beach which you can access from the top of the bay and walk over the top of the cliff. There is a car park at the top which you can park in with decent prices, £3 I believe but national trust members have it free. Great day out!

Laura James — Google review

Absolutely stunning beach! It's a bit of a steep walk down to the beach and back up but definitely worth it if you can. Gorgeous views from the coastal path at the top too. The beach is so big it didn't seem busy. Plenty of parking when we went too in the National Trust car park. Drive to it was a lot of single track roads, not fun but again worth it!

Karla Bennett — Google review

Really lovely beach and some funky sunflowers. Lots to explore

Evelina Sinkeviciute — Google review

Came here on a rather wet and cloudy day. The parking was fair, £3.00 for 2 hours. There was a steepish walk down to the beach but nothing too bad. The beach itself was stunning, clear golden sand and plenty of things washed up on the beach to see....we saw starfish and plenty of crabs, and lots and lots of shell's.. it's a lovely walk along the beach, over all one of the best beaches we've been on in the UK..

Matthew Pearce — Google review

One of the most clean and beautiful sandy beaches in the UK. Lovely walks around the cliff with picturesque scenes.

Shahid Lone — Google review

the beautiful location and the view is a dream. parking is very cheap.

Corina Miron — Google review

Absolutely stunning place - one of my favourite spots in Wales. Beautiful, massive beach, clean sea, lots of parking spaces (£6 per day). The only downside is to get there as the roads are extremely narrow at time and 2 cars won't be able to fit in next to one another, other than that it's just perfect for a sunny day out 😊 Also I would mention if you visit this place with someone who struggles with walking uphill/downhill I wouldn't recommend to go down the beach as you have to walk up/down a steep hill to get there.

Monika Śmigiel — Google review

The prettiest walk down from the national trust car park, some areas are steep, but the steps help. The beach itself is very clean, beautiful, and dog friendly. You can see works head from the beach. The walk back up will get you panting but so worth it.

Restored historic mill exploring the Welsh wool industry via hands-on displays & a textile gallery.

As I arrived there were gardens by the car park with plants good for dying wool. There was lots to see the museum with working machinery for preparing, spinning and weaving the wool. A nice selection of garments and other items made in the mill. Lots on the history and culture of the mill and Welsh garment making. Well worth a visit.

Sandra Taylor — Google review

Great museum telling the story of wool processing, lovely to see most if the staff crafting on the job, knitting and crochet... there were volunteers spinning too. Well worth a visit, nice small shop and great friendly cafe. Look out for the kids activities there is a great little book for them to fill in and a card of activity moments. Nice garden full of plants that can be used for natural dying. Lovely picnic area, water wheel, leat system. The village has some super walks look out for the leaflet with the maps of the routes.

Marianne Skinner — Google review

The museum was very interesting with lots of machinery and local history. We enjoyed seeing everything and had tea, coffee and wonderful cakes in the cafe afterwards. The museum shop had many colourful things to buy. The toilets were exceptionally clean and well looked after. Dogs are allowed in the grounds but not indoors. It is free to visit but you need to book your tickets online before you go.

Julie Lakey — Google review

Former wool factory, converted into a great museum displaying the whole journey of wool, from animal to garment. Really interesting and well worth a visit. Ample parking. The cafe offers a range of tasty treats. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Swansea Cymru — Google review

Interesting history of Welsh Mills. Well laid out and current fabulous knitting exhibition. But, no machines working which would enhance the visitor experience

Steve McKenzie — Google review

Spent a very happy couple of hours exploring this fascinating museum. Well laid out, very helpful, knowledgeable staff (absolutely lovely to watch and talk to a lovely young man spinning at a spinning wheel), and with lots of information boards, photographs and more. Really brought the history of woollen mills in Wales alive.

Joan Daniell — Google review

Top marks for this quaint, yet important museum highlighting the way of life of so many. It's all free entry too. Has a reasonably sized cafe, small shop and good parking.Ok, I have to declare an interest (I have a loom & weave, though not on this scale), but actually, the story of processing wool and the story of those involved was well set out in both Welsh and English.Sadly the machines were not being turned on to show them working and hear/feel the noise (my visit was Tues early Jan 23), so I'm not overly surprised, but there are plenty of information boards and videos to help tell the story. Check opening times (google etc) before you set off.. they don't open every day!The cafe serves basic but good food with some gluten free options. Space for a picnic outside in more clement weather.Except for guide dogs, dogs are not permitted inside the museum.Worth a return visit? Yes ... I definitely fancy another look.

The Kings Head Inn, located in the historical market town of Llandovery, offers comfortable rooms with sea views and free Wi-Fi. The traditional pub serves delicious Thai cuisine and has a beer garden for guests to enjoy. The 10 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms have crisp cotton linen and all the facilities expected from a four-star coaching inn. Customers rave about the excellent service provided by accommodating staff during busy times such as bank holidays, making it an ideal spot for lively evenings out with friends or family.

Great place to stay, lovely location, dog friendly and nice food. Sam on reception was very helpful and a big shout out to the lady who ran the breakfast service, friendly, chatty and provided Sausages for the dogs. Couple potholes in pub car park, hard to see at night. Definitely would recommend. Rooms clean and tidy.

Michael Grolys — Google review

This is a really great pub, a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Plenty of parking. The staff were really friendly, and the food was delicious. 3 options for vegans, and they were good options. The vegan cheesecake was amazing!!The only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5... We went to this pub based on the terrific reviews about their Sunday lunch. On arrival we were told Sunday roasts are not served in summer time. I didn't see this anywhere on their website.

This is a fabulous place to stay with a dog! The rooms are great and reception has doggy supplies too. The hotel bar and terrace is exceptional in its dog friendliness. There are dog sausages at breakfast and there is even rice based dog dinners too. The location is great. Very close to huge lovely dog friendly beaches.

Very friendly and accommodating staff who found us a table for 7 on a busy Friday night without any fuss. Food was good quality, substantial and delicious! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Great lunch - four satisfied people, two satisfied dogs (dog treats a nice touch)! Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and service oriented. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Apple pie very tasty. Overall atmosphere was cosy (rainy day). Thank you Kings Head Inn.

A simply beautiful pub an absolute gem! Beautiful food and drink next to the log fire. A Testament to the owner as it's clear that this pub is superbly maintained with stunning period features. Staff are very welcoming and dogs are welcome here even inside the pub. I highly recommend anyone visit.

Popped in for lunch on our way to the beach. Luckily it was a beautiful day and we were able to enjoy lunch on the front terrace.Staff were very welcoming and we both had a Brie and cranberry baguette which came with some salad and crisps .It was first class. We also ordered some chips which were amazing. Best I've ever had.Washed down with a pint of Buckleys.Must admit we had a little kip in the sun on the beach. Fabulous 👌

Ian J — Google review

My partner and I attended the pub today with our dogs. The welcome, hospitality, and service was fantastic. However, the food, namely Fish and Chips, was not so good. The batter on the fish was tasteless and soggy. The once legendary thrice cooked chips had disappeared, only to be replaced by hard and over cooked imitators. Such a shame as the ambience and dog friendly setting was superb.

VAUGHAN THOMAS — Google review

Great pub 👌 didn't stay here. I spoke to a few locals, and one used to work here; out of season, it is great. In season, it can get really manic especially if the weather is good. We went out of season towards the end-April.Sharp service and the food menus are excellent and cater to all meat, vegan, gluten-free types.By the way, the venison pie is superb 👍 😀. ENJOY 😉

G Matthews — Google review

Beautiful pub, with full Vegan menu. Great location after swimming at the sea and the blue pool. I dont know if they have rooms/what they are like so Ive not rated that. Thank you for your lovely Vegan food

Very busy Saturday night service. We had to book a table in advance.Plenty of food options, vegetarian and gluten-free.Service was prompt, and the food we ordered was good value and quality.Good beer selection, great atmosphere, great scenic location.Only four stars because my burgers were overcooked, but my companions said their food was great, harsh? MaybeI will definitely come back!

“Can’t get over how accommodating they were.” We were a group of 12 having dinner and lots of drinks there on a bank holiday Sunday. The food was fantastic (delicious, quick and hot!). The service was even better! Thank you for a lovely and lively evening at the Kings Head Inn!

Caoimhe Gowran — Google review

Wow, took a little road trip and headed here for a Sunday roast, warm welcome from staff, the roast was exceptional, fresh tasting and was reasonable value for the price. Breath taking views right on our door step, perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. In high season I would highly recommend to book.

Karen Williams — Google review

We had a lovely time at the pub. Chips were a little soggy, but really lovely staff. Excellent BBQ sauce though, which we commented would really improve most pubs. Ample seating and good views. We were delighted to use the local free bus service, good technical driver with a friendly manner and great spatial awareness. Make sure to use the free charging sockets! Set an alarm, the smoothe drive might lull you to sleep 😴😉🤪

Robin Hodge — Google review

Really enjoyed our lunch at this great little pub. Fantastic food! We had the steak and kidney pie with new Gower potatoes and seasonal vegetables and my partner had chicken and Asparagus pie. Well done to the chef and all the staff here who were lovely.. Strong recommendation if you want good food and service. We will be back again during our holiday in The Gower.

Andrew Dickinson — Google review

Had a pit stop here after a walk over the hill from our camp site, this ended up being a meal for all 7 of us and two dogs.Absolutely superb.Thank you.Local beers, local food, great service and atmosphere.

L Putts — Google review

Visited this lovely pub whilst on holiday. Super experience - really well organized, separate gluten free menu with lots of options and good kids menu. Food was excellent - delicious home cooked chips, loved the pie, steak cooked exactly as requested. Service friendly, accommodating and efficient. If only there were more places like this.

Emma Hanes — Google review

Stayed one night here in autumn after a long walk on the stunning beach nearby. Even on a dark, quiet evening, it has a gorgeous, dog-friendly vibe which is completely down to the lovely locals and super-friendly staff. A special mention to Mahmood, Carl and especially Julie, who really made me and my pooch feel so welcome. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, although bring your slippers as the stone floor is pretty cold. Delicious food too (I had the pork belly) as well as a canine menu for our four-legged friends. I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely great afternoon out with fair prices, friendly volunteers, immersive experiences and plenty to keep the kids busy. A particular mention to Alan who kept our 5 and 3 year olds engaged when showing us around steam engines and carriages under refurbishment in the engine shed. His stories were interesting, his jokes were cheesy and his contribution to our day made it really special. Highly recommend!

Gareth Talbot — Google review

Great value detour with the younger kids. Adults can enjoy the waterfall and amusing station name at the end of the (short) line. No steam until 2024 should the engines are renovated, but still worth a stop. Play equipment and playground at station.

Thomas Amos — Google review

Fun half day exploring the site including a short train ride to the waterfall and back. Tea / coffee / sandwiches.

Andy Pearce — Google review

Great place, kids loved the train rides. Especially the pixie line with all the fairies and gnomes to look at! Will be back again.

Jake Wreford — Google review

We went with our two year old son and this place is run by a brilliant charity. There's the two train lines (pixie line was great due to the enthusiasm of the driver and how many gnomes and things were hidden, the other line is good and has carriages you sit normally in). The staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout. The soft play bit is fantastic (not the biggest but definitely more than sufficient) and also a great outdoor play area with slides and things to climb.Couldn't recommend more.

Tim Marshall — Google review

Plenty of space to park lots of picnic tables and plenty of room for kids to play in the paly areas. The toilets are immaculate and the drinks were extremely reasonable. We loved it and will return

Claire Lewis — Google review

Lovely morning out. Staff super friendly and helpful. My son loved the quiz and the prize at the end 😊. The pixie line was magical! So much to see. Thank you so much to everyone that runs this place. It's a little gem for kids. 🌟

kate millard — Google review

Staff were friendly and happy to help. A nice little place for an afternoon visit. There were two trains, the main train that took us to and from a bridge with a stream and the second train being tinkerbells train through a little fairy land. There is also a little charity shop, children's play areas, miniature golf, and a little local train history part.

OK, we didn't see dolphins on our trip but it was a great boat trip. Some excellent local knowledge and history explained during the trip and some amazing wildlife facts to the detail of marine biology like - dolphins sleep with only half a brain at a time.My 2 boys were captivated by some of the info, the trip was quite relaxing at times, we did see 4 seals and many marine birds. The staff were very friendly and we had a great time.

Rob Parkinson — Google review

Great trip despite no dolphins to see on our tour. The guides were hugely passionate, knowledgeable and engaging.only comments were that there was a bit of a delay getting started with our trip and no one at the boarding point to explain what was going on for about 10 mins but we still got the full hour.

Sarah Franczak — Google review

Fantastic boat trip , we last visited 6 years ago and today had the privilege of being out on the first trip of the season, it did not disappoint. Easy to book ,friendly team and the wildlife knowledge of the on board team was fabulous. This is a must do in New Quay and SeaMor is the best trip ! Zoom in to see a common dolphin - which it turns out is rare .

Angela Lewis — Google review

Brilliant Boat trip, saw dolphins,2 seals & sea birds too, love the fact there is no chasing the wildlife & it’s treated with respect, good health & safety on board, only 12 people allowed so personal space great, my son thought it was amazing & so relaxing, Josh was lovely & very knowledgeable, Thankyou for the great experience & for letting our family dog join us, we will return 😊

Paula Taylor — Google review

We had a lovely 1 hour sunset trip around the headland at New Quay. The crew were very informative about all the wildlife and really knew their stuff! We didn't see any dolphins but it's never guaranteed anyway, but it certainly didn't spoil the trip!

Graham Hood — Google review

A great hr and a half boat trip around New quay. A very good guide who told us lots about the area as well as the dolphin.

David Turner — Google review

Amazing Staff, great boat, not crowded and we were lucky to see a dozen of Dolphins. Will definitely go again.

David Rubin — Google review

Great trip! The two guides were informative and and friendly about the sea life and area. Saw a load of dolphins, everyone loved it!

PeterOz7 — Google review

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with SeaMor. We unfortunately didn’t see any dolphins but that’s no one’s fault. Our boat ride was from 7:30 to 8:30 and because the boat arrived about 15 minutes late we got to see a lot more of the sunset which was a great bonus. The tour guide on board was full of information and was ready to answer any of our questions. We would definitely recommend.

Tom Lane — Google review

Fantastic company to go with. We saw lots of dolphins and had the added bonus of handling lobsters and crabs along with lots of information on their life cycles and habitats. The crew were really friendly and knowledgeable. The boat was modern and well looked after and was comfortable. Everyone had a great view. I would highly recommend this company for your dolphin tours in New Quay.

Ian Scholes — Google review

Beautiful location with extremely friendly staff. We went on two tours over the summer but unfortunately didn’t see any dolphins. Everything runs very smoothly and on time. The tour guides make an effort to speak with everyone on board and answer any questions. Will be back for another soon!

Victoria T — Google review

We recently stayed in New Quay and following a recommendation did two dolphin watching trips with Seamor. One sunset one and another during the day. The skipper, Andy and guide, Josh on board were friendly, knowledgeable, interesting and happy to answer individual questions. We saw some sea birds and fantastic views, but no dolphins although others on trips the same day and during the week had seen quite a few. The weather was beautiful and the seas very calm and the boat was comfortable with a toilet onboard and we enjoyed both experiences. The trips are good value for money. We would definitely recommend Seamor.

Susan Barley — Google review

We had a lovely experience with SeaMor and found them to be very professional. They don’t overcrowd the boats so everyone is guaranteed a great view. Unfortunately we didn’t see any dolphins on our trip but they did say there is no guarantee which is perfectly reasonable. Nonetheless we enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back again. Beautiful scenery. Allow extra time for parking as it could be quite busy.

nadia hawa — Google review

Truly fabulous trip. Dolphins riding the bowwave. A line of 9 porpoise passed by. Seals; A Balearic Shearwater; rafts of Manx Shearwater. a Peregrine falcon on cardigan island. And magnificent views & golden sunset.Andy got the boat in just right places to see as much as possible. Josh, aka The Wildlife Man is really knowledgeable & talks to every single person on the boat to make sure they are enjoying the trip & get to see all that is happening. It's like being part of a big 'SeaMor' family. A big thank you to Brett & his team for another super trip, from the Lindsay family.

Great trip, really informative crew, a truly fabulous morning. Sadly we didn't see any dolphins, but I have learnt so much about them. How the rich history of the area and how, thanks to the efforts of many, the reliance on tourism beautifully marries with the need to protect the abundance of wildlife in the area. Would highly recommend.

Sarah Turtle — Google review

The boat trip was great! Unfortunately we didn't spot any dolphins but we did see a seal. The trip was informative and the scenery was incredible. We picked a great day for it.We chose the 1 hour trip because we had to head off to our next stop and didn't have time for a longer one. If you're not overly bothered about dolphin spotting this one is perfect.Although saying that you could see a dolphin after 2 minutes on the water or 2 hours!

Kate Hames — Google review

Had a great experience dolphin watching with this company. Sarah and Claire were the crew, both were fantastic hosts, Sarah's commentary was very informative. We had a good day and saw many dolphins.Would go again and recommend to family and friends.

Faqir Mohamed Chaudhry — Google review

We didn’t get to see the dolphins, but our children enjoyed the trip! The skipper and his mate were both very informative on the local area, history and the dolphins. Very reasonably priced for two adults and three children. I booked online, which I also found very easy to do. Will definitely be going on a boat trip again, when we next visit!

Ryan Godfrey — Google review

One thing on our bucket list is to see dolphins in their natural habitats, Dolphin Spotting Boat trips helped us do that.I booked the 1 1/2 boat trip in the hope we could see at least one dolphin, we were amazed how many and how close they were. The boats were full but not overcrowded, everyone could see the dolphins from where they were sat. The skipper took us approx 100 yards from the qauy side towards the beach and waited a short time before a pod came to us. We stayed in the bay for the first hour and had dolphins all around us. He then took us out of the bay to see some seals and the scenery around the bay.The crew were very informative of the wildlife and the area, with the history of the surrounding area.

David Williams — Google review

It was a lovely 1 hour boat trip which was very informative and also funny at times. We didn't see any dolphins, but not a lot anyone can do about that. We did manage to see a couple of seals and lots of bird life. Good history of the local area too. Highly recommended!

Ian Betteridge — Google review

We had a superb hour on the boat. Dafydd and Steven were excellent guides, knowledge of the local area providing interesting facts on Newquay and the local area. They were also clearly passionate and highly knowledgeable on the local wildlife. Steven also helped to spot some of the seals popping their heads out of the water. We were lucky and spotted a number of dolphins and calf with mother. We also watched a couple of seals bobbing around and a number of sea birds. But it's important to remember the boat doesn't chase the wildlife, it always keeps a safe distance and will not spend too long nearby , it's responsible tourism. Will definitely go again. The boat we sailed on had some covered decking, which they can roll up or down depending on the weather. Many thanks. Plus, you can take your dog onboard.

Barry Hughes — Google review

We didnt get to see any dolphins today, probably due to the hot weather but we did get to see seals and lots of birds. We did the hour and a half tour with George and Sarah, both were very knowledgeable hosts and gave a very insightful commentary. We will book again and hopefully get more lucky next time and see some dolphins

David Morgan — Google review

We live nearby in Wales and have hardly done many trips since my son was little, so booked this for my sons 13th birthday.Im petrified of the sea and small boats, BUT this was absolutely fantastic/amazing!!Highly recommended.. The staff were very helpful and the tour informative. No reason to be scared as everything was good, the sea calm etc and lots of dolphins to see.Value for moneyWill definitely go again and be recommending all the time.Well done, keep up the good work.

Donna Walsh — Google review

We had trip to watch the dolphins. We saw them but They were a bit small. We went on 7:10pm. I think best time is noon to watch them. But it was nice experience show dolphins to kids. We saw seagulls in some caves as well.

Amir Bakhshinejad — Google review

Interesting talk from the skipper and his mate. Fourth time I've been and only the once I've seen dolphins (and that was years ago). Obviously, rather wildlife be wild and not in captivity, but I fear they're not as regular in this area as they once were.

Craig — Google review

We went on the 1hr tour, the staff were friendly and provided an interesting commentary. Really please to see some seals basking in the rocks, and although really far away we were lucky enough to see a dolphin breach too. The boat was comfy and everything ran really smoothly. I would highly recommend this as a family outing, online booking worked well, and in peak season I would recommend advance booking for ease.

Brilliant fishing experience. Tim and Corrina catered for novices and experienced fishermen and made the trip fun and enjoyable. We caught several mackerel during the trip thanks to the skipper’s excellent knowledge. Thoroughly recommended!

A great family experience, loads of dolphin and wildlife operators and limited fishing operators from New Quay. Epic fishing from New Quay is simply good. Fantastic fun and value for money.

It was great experience to join epic fishing. The crew were brilliant, helping everyone and keeping the boat spotlessly clean. Managed to catch 3 fish and my daughter caught 2 after great instruction. Fantastic time. Will definitely go again if in the area.

Loved our trip yesterday. Beautiful sunshine and scenery. Boat was extremely clean and very stable. Fishing was fun and all 4 in the party caught mackerel! We would certainly recommend this company to friends and family

Jan Walker — Google review

Left Newquay harbour for 1½ hour mackerel trip. All equipment provided. Solo lady traveller who was made to feel most welcome & included. The trip didn't disappoint, not only were the fish plentiful but the views were amazing too. Highly recommend.

Kerry Jones — Google review

A lovely trip out today in glorious sunshine and the sea like a mill pond. Tim and Karina were superb hosts, helping you all the time and keeping an imaculately clean fab boat. Caught some Whiting and a Dab. We will return and highly recomend .

This was the highlight of our holiday. The two members of staff were great. Keen to get the kids interested in the fish, clearly passionate about what they do.I can honestly say an epic fishing trip was had. See you next year!

A very enjoyable mackerel-fishing trip aboard “Legend” with Tim and Corrine - both of whom were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The boat was immaculate and the fishing tackle was well-maintained.Age and fishing experience are irrelevant - you will receive assistance if you need it. Highly recommended. 🙂

Epic fishing trip living up to its name! The loveliest hosts with a well kept vessel. Made to feel safe and comfortable the whole way through. The mackerel were biting and we saw the dolphins of course! Thank you for an enjoyable trip. Bbqing the catch as I write this.

The picturesque Gower peninsula, located west of Swansea, is a popular destination for birdwatchers, sun-seekers and surfers. It was the first area in Britain to receive the designation of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty due to its unspoiled landscapes, lengthy beaches and breathtaking views. With minimal visible industry except for local farms and few shops available, it is an ideal place for those seeking relaxation and tranquility.

Beautiful area. Lovely walk around the lake and the cafe was a perfect stop off at the end for a well deserved lunch

Sarah McAvoy — Google review

Absolutely stunning coastline in South Wales. Beautiful beaches, with plenty of hidden gems along the way, whether it's waterfalls, an old fortress or magical forests.

Michael Rowarth — Google review

An area of natural beauty and rightly so. If you enjoy scenic views long beaches and walking you’ll love Gower, it’s an untouched gem. Very few shops, no visible industry apart from farms, it’s certainly a place suited to those wishing to relax and unwind. The roads are very narrow, there are very few paths, it’s a place where you’ll need to drive carefully and with respect of what might be round the next corner.

Richard A'Court — Google review

A beautiful place.. must visit with kids. Go to three cliffs bay and Rochilles bay for sure. These are a little bit of a walk to get to. Something to keep in mind for older people and people with younger kids . There are a lot of other beaches too which you can drive down to . Do try out Joe's ice cream and Papi's pizza.

Namritha sen gupta — Google review

This is a Fantastic place, shouldn't miss if around. I have been there many times and every time it has over whelmed me with great pleasure. Different seasons at different time it has various looks. It is a great place to take pictures as well.

I've lived in West Wales for 30 years and had never been to the Gower! I finally met a friend in Swansea and we drove to Bishopston and walked through the wood to Pwll Du beach, alongside the coast to Brandy Cove and then back to Bishopston. Afterwards we drove to Caswell Bay. I was just speechless how breathtakingly beautiful the area was and am planning a lot of trips to different parts of the Gower next year.

An excellent part of Wales, fantastic beaches, superb wildlife, draw dropping views, tranquil hiking, quint towns and villages. Truly one of the best areas of Wales and the UK.

Oxwich Bay is a small and peaceful cove featuring a vast and pet-friendly sandy beach. The area offers car parking facilities, as well as public restrooms for visitors. The bay boasts unique rocky formations, soft grassy cliffs, and fragrant bluebell woodlands that are abundant with wild garlic scent. During quiet periods, the location can seem like another world where one can escape from the crowds and experience stunning natural beauty in privacy.

Took a mini bus of veterans out for the day, water skiing. It was an amazing day. Beautiful beach, food a bit expensive but good

Sorry, lovely place as is rest of Wales. Took elderly disabled father there so could sit in car and see the sea and watch the dog have fun on beach for 1hr..Shame the owners seem to be a bit on the money grabbing side as wanted £5. Samee as if staying all day.worth knowing before you go maybe.£1.50 FOR 1HR Horton car park

An absolutely stunning place to visit. Beautiful beach and not too busy when I was there

Ray “Taffy” Davies — Google review

At times I felt as though I had been transported to another planet. Perfect weather, Bank Holiday & barely another soul in sight. This planet was all mine for a few hours. Rocky landscapes, grassy ledges as soft as velvet & bluebell woodlands full of the aroma of wild garlic ready to flower.....

Wendy Stone — Google review

Lovely beach even on a windy day in November. Dog walking all year around. Car parking was £5 a little expensive for out of season when you’re only likely to be visiting a an hour or two, should be no more than £3.Very disappointed to find the toilets were not open. Food and drink facilities but over £3 for a coffee!

Jane — Google review

Car park £6, easy parking (on a week day)easy access to beach toilet facilities reasonable and just off the beach and dog friendly

Nickola Quarman — Google review

The eastern end of Oxwich Bay, beyond the pill, is more remote and rugged than the hotel, car park and restaurant end.In fact, thinking about it, the only time I’ve driven into the bay is either to attend wedding events held in the marquee beside the Oxwich Bay Hotel, or to dine at the Michelin starred ‘Beach House’, otherwise I’ve either cycled in, which is a pacy wiggly descent, or walked in from Tor Bay or Nicholaston Burrows. The beach isn’t lifeguarded, which means that on occasion it becomes the playground for jet skiers, who launch off Knab Rock in Mumbles and head round to terrify bathers and SUP riders.Dog walkers seem to enjoy the vast flat expanse of sand, chasing the oystercatchers on the low tide line. However, the loveliest part of this bay is the nature reserve concealed in the dunes, with its great variety of ancient wildflowers, and wetlands that host a variety of birds, and if you know where to look, adders.Further along, the burrows have piled sand in front of the old cliffs, which have become overgrown with blackthorn and ivy. The beach is finally punctuated by the upturned Sedimentary limestone plates of Great Tor.

The bay at Three Cliffs is a serene and peaceful area with a rugged coastline that offers visitors a dog-friendly beach, nearby paths for walking and public restrooms. It is also known as the ideal spot along Gower Coast Path for taking Instagram-worthy photos. Rhossili, another nearby beach, has vast sandy shores with a shipwreck and Worms Head bluffs perfect for exploration.

Seriously so beautiful! We had a little scared because we decided to climb up and down the mountain, but if you go through the clear path this won't happen to you. The beach is stunning and the place at night is really something else. Could be one of the most beautiful places in Wales in my opinion.

Three Cliff Bay is an absolutely stunning destination that's perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. I highly recommend Three Cliff Bay to anyone looking for a beautiful and tranquil place to chill.

Sibin Thankachan — Google review

Beautiful beach with some pretty amazing views. A 20 minute walk comfortable from the car park. Plenty of happy dogs playing around. It gets very busy during holidays and weekends. We couldn’t get close to the 3 cliffs as there was a stream of water cutting off the edge of the beach and we did not want to get our feet wet.

Rithvik Reddy — Google review

Stunning place, lots of great paths to explore! The beach is beautiful every time of the day 🥰

Anita Walkowska — Google review

Don't go here - you won't like it.Long (lovely) walk to the beach. No amenities or arcades (which is peaceful).I'd suggest mumbles or Rhossili instead- Leave Three Cliffs to remain beautiful, peaceful and bliss ;-)

Darren McCulloch (DMC Landscapes Ltd) — Google review

So beautiful and the water on the beach is so beautifully clear.

Gorgeous beach. Lovely walk down from the car park along the river. Kids had a great time swimming in the sea and building sandcastles. Dogs had an even better time on the huge beach. Certainly go back!

Such a beautiful beach and amazing views from the clifftop.

Katie Seales — Google review

I walked over 70 miles around Gower coastline and Three Cliffs Bay is by far my favourite beach. When you appear at top of sand dunes, look down at estuary and wonder how to cross then as you reach cross point the stepping stones appear (time tide right) it's purely magical.

Louise Andrews — Google review

An incredible place, divine. If you decide to visit Wales, Swansea, you must stop by this wonderful place👍

Radko Rimenov — Google review

Beautiful place. Great walk through the woods to the beach. Not sure if there is an accessible route for wheelchair users but very beautiful place. Want to go back here.

Sam Teasdale — Google review

The Three Cliffs Beach is scenic, sandy beach, backed by three limestone cliffs is a spectacular shoreline of sand dunes.Three Cliffs bay is located on the south coast of the Gower, a thumb sized shaped peninsula situated in the centre of the south Wales coast. The beach is half an hour drive from the city of Swansea or a 90 minute drive from Cardiff.Check out this 3.7-km out-and-back trail near Overton, Swansea. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 46 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales is a sprawling estate located in the Tywi valley countryside. Once an aristocratic estate, it now boasts various plant habitats such as lakes, bogs, and heaths with numerous decorative areas and educational exhibits. The highlight of this garden is the spectacular Great Glasshouse designed by Norman Foster, which is the largest single-span glasshouse in the world.

A very young garden, compared to those in other parts of the UK, with some some glorious details and features. The walled garden is just fascinating, and within it, the butterfly house is a wonderful place to stop and stare at these amazing tropical insects all around. The huge feature dome hosts a warm ‘Mediterranean’ type semi arid climate, the deep ravine emphasising the contrasts found in those regions.Enough here to happily occupy a day, with lunch in the old farmhouse.

Very nice place. Lovely clean toilets. Great for all ages. There are lots of different plants to look at and a bonus on the way out - a garden centre 😀 will definitely be going back ( on a cooler day though, we went when it was 28'c). Lovely walks to do around the area.

cheryl crowdy — Google review

A lovely day spent at the National Botanic Gardens. Beautifully presented gardens, lots of walks and great for all ages. Nice gift shop, plenty of places for refreshments and a restaurant (try the lamb pastie). A must is the bird of prey area and definitely pay the extra £3 to watch a display, you'll be amazed at how close the birds fly and land around you. Thank you Botanical Gardens and your staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly.

Melanie — Google review

This place is a great family day out. So varied and much to see. There is various themed gardens to walk around, indoor greenhouses with exotic plants and the largest single span glass greenhouse in the world. There is also a lots of walks as your also in the national nature reserve. Also we'll worth visiting is the British bird of prey centre. The cafe serves good quality food too.You can even take your dog with you on Fridays and Mondays, but check the website to confirm.

Ray Gardner — Google review

Lovely place to visit if you like botanical gardens. We really enjoyed it. The food and drink selection is small but they have vegan cakes. Very elderly and disabled friendly as they operate golf buggies between the different buildings. The birds of pray show is a must, we loved it.

Melinda Akpan — Google review

A lovely place for a wander and to look at a massive range of plants and flowers and trees etc etc. Visited at end of August so not so many blooms left but still colourful. Has a massive greenhouse structure. Also on site is the bird of prey centre which is worth 5 stars in itself. Couple of areas to get a coffee and cake so all is cool.

PlayLoud33 — Google review

Well worth a visit, exotic plants 🪴 and a super size greenhouse, lovely walks 🚶‍♀️ and fountains ⛲️ to explore. Plenty of parking space, toilets, cafe, restaurant and don't forget to visit the secondhand book shop.Birds of prey, and flying displays. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers for there help and buggy rides.

Collin Robbins — Google review

Six hours here and we didn't see it all!! Staff were very helpful and informative. Lots to see dispite it being early in the year. Hope to return later in the summer. Your ticket is valid for seven days which is great if you're staying local. The bird of prey flying wad spectacular and informative. It's a good day out for all, plus where your mobility scooter cannot get the provide a buggy and knowledgeable driver to take you, such as down to the lakes. Highly recommended.

Nicola Hones — Google review

It was quite beautiful. The main greenhouse was very cool, each section was a different area of the world. The tropical greenhouse was amazing. We visited in autumn so not everything was in flower but it was still quite beautiful. The cafe and gift shop were both nice and not too expensive. It is definitely worth a visit.

Robyn — Google review

Now, I'm no gardener, and in truth I don't really appreciate plants. I was dragged to the Botanic Garden somewhat reluctantly - but actually I quite enjoyed our visit. We probably didn't go at the best time of year for the outdoor displays (March), but the gardens were still pleasant to wander around, and the main building was spectacular to be in. Easy parking, good catering, good shop, and if you do like a bit of gardening, lots of stuff in their centre on the way out. My favourite bit? The tree roots.

Paul Crossley — Google review

A beautiful place to visit any time of year - membership is definitely worth it if you will be a return visitor! I’ve been visiting since it opened, and it’s wonderful to see the growth and changes not only seasonally but over the years. The walking trails are a must too if the gardens themselves get too busy! The only disappointment from my most recent visit is that the water feature in the glasshouse is looking a big algae filled and neglected due to the waterfall being switched off and there being no fish in the pond.

willbesprog — Google review

The most beautiful, tranquil and relaxing place to visit for a day out with very friendly, informative, kind and helpful members of staff. The tickets seem a little pricey at first, but for me, the gardens and whole experience ended up being worth every penny from the moment I passed through the doors to my botanical adventure. I just wish I could visit every week to enjoy all the flowers and various plants throughout the year!

Givenny Katrina — Google review

No matter what the Welsh weather throws at you, it's the most beautiful garden with a huge variety of trees and plants ,native and from far afield. Plenty of places to shelter and you can be ferried around by large or small electric buggies, just stick your thumb out or talk to them in reception. Everyone is there to help and inform. Large food area with plenty of choice with disabled facilities throughout. Wheel chair friendly everywhere but strong arms a must or electric power as most if the site has a gradient.

simon hayday — Google review

Beautiful place, plenty to do for all ages. Staff very friendly, easy parking. Worth the money when you get a second visit for free within 7 days.

Josh Chapman — Google review

Thus was a wonderful place to visit. The core of the garden was very wheelchair friendly and dog friendly but the paths out of the core are a little unstable under wheels so our companion on a mobility scooter decided to turn back. The food was delicious and it was great to have the dog with us in the cafe rather than having to sit in the cold outside. Will definitely visit again!

ElinorBurnbrite — Google review

Beautiful place. A lot more to see than imagined. Falconry, stunning gardens even when we visited at the end of September. A small cafe within a large courtyard and a larger restaurant/Café, we sat in a glass covered conservatory, lovely and warm. Lots of people walking with their dogs. Looked great for families too.

My partner received the woodland walk experience as a birthday gift and I tagged along as a spectator. Included in the voucher was free entry to the botanic gardens, free access to a bird of prey display and also a woodland walk flying two birds. The display was fantastic and the birds seemed to be loving the activity (and we manager to find a few fallen feathers on the field - winner!).The walk was facilitated by Simon, who was lovely, accomodating, knowledgeable and informative (also very generous with his time as I think we had a little longer than we should have!). The birds were beautiful, full of character and it was amazing to see them flying in their natural surroundings. Such an amazing experience and would definitely recommend.

This in my opinion is the best place to visit when holidaying in the south of Wales, the whole set up, experience, falconers just make the experience, one you’ll never forgot.Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have the best time.Up close and personal with the birds themselves giving you the opportunity to picture them either mid flight or sat looking wonderful.Go and visit, support the centre and help them grow to become the best place to visit within the falconry business.

Steve 9413 — Google review

We had SUCH an amazing time with Alex at the British bird of prey centre. We met and flew 3 different owls (in the drifting snow) and watched the owl flying show with 3 other species of owls. All the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and the birds were really well looked after. Clearly a project of passion and well worth a visit if you are in the area. For just £60pp we spent the whole day in the botanical gardens exploring the incredible glass houses, had a delicious lunch and then spent all afternoon with just us, Alex and the birds. It was really great value and we would DEFINITELY do it again.Thankyou to all the team who made out visit so special, we will recommend you to all our friends

Alex Wittering — Google review

We had a fantastic visit to the centre. We had planned to visit as part of our trip to the botanical gardens. The centre itself has a great selection of birds to look at, and the way the aviaries are setup you feel like you are close to the birds which gives you a great view. We then paid to watch the bird display which has to be the best show we have been to of anywhere. Afterwards our sons did the Kite flying experience which they absolutely loved. Being able to get the bird to land on your hand and feed was incredible. We only expected to hold the bird a couple of times but they ended up getting 5 turns which they were really pleased with. If it wasn't so far away for us we would absolutely go again.

Gareth Peck — Google review

Had the best owl experience with my 7 old year boy. I have got him into owls and I booked this on our recent Easter break. We had Emma for our owl flying experience and she was great with the owls and my son. We met and flew 3 different owls. The great grey owl being one of my boy's faves! He loved it's fluffy feet! After the experience we watched the Hawk flying show and then looked at the other owls and birds of prey in the centre which is all included with your ticket. You also get to go around the Botanic Garden too so extra bonus!Do not miss out! Book now!

H Isa — Google review

Such an incredible place! The birds are beautiful and the staff are fantastic, so knowledgeable and friendly. There are 3 flying shows a day which are all different. We paid a little bit extra for the group flying sessions, and got to fly a great grey owl and a black kite - would highly recommend.

Rachel Taylor — Google review

This is the most incredible, friendly, educational and all round amazing bird centre on the planet. We go for inspiration as pilots, and seeing these amazing birds fly millimetres from your head, coming to sit next you on the benches and fly their little hearts to please the visitors is amazing. Aquarius and Atlantis with their massive wing spans, Midas the golden Eagle with his fabulous plumage, Dory with his massive owl face, Hector and Popeye with their deep yellow eyes and of course Enzo the fastest falcon on the planet... so much to love... we go every month!

Capt. Yaw — Google review

We watched the show and it was very informative. The birds on display were; Long eared Owl, Black and Red Kites, Kestrel and a Golden Eagle. They were flying in between the spectators, making for a wonderful sight. VFM.

Roy Drinkwater — Google review

Went on the afternoon bird flying experience as a family. It was brilliant. Simon was a great guide, lovely to be close to the birds and see their personalities.

Sarah Stuckey — Google review

Absolutely loved our time here. Booked a half day private experience to fly some birds, I also planned to propose to my partner who absolutely loves birds/birds of prey, whilst on this experience using the birds. The centre honestly went above and beyond to help me plan, and go through with this. With the help of the great grey owl Dory who flew a sign to my partner. It was honestly just a beautiful day and a wonderful experience. Truly a day and memories we will treasure forever. I cannot thank or praise the centre and the staff enough for executing this surprise so perfectly. I was sooooo nervous but honestly it could not have gone better. They were all so so lovely, and went above and beyond without a doubt, even bringing us glasses of prosecco after. Also cannot praise our falconer Poppy enough, who made our experience wonderful, was like walking around flying birds with a friend, which added to our memories and made the experience just relaxed (as much as i could be) and just so much more enjoyable! I am positive we will be back next time we are in Wales, you guys and Dory are now an important and special part of our story. Thank you again for all of the amazing staff for giving us memories we will never forget and will never get sick of telling people about. Truly amazing!
